    • Dane Myers scores lone run in loss to White Sox
Dane Myers went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Friday night’s loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Myers drew a two-out walk off of Drew Thorpe in the second inning and swiped second base to get himself into scoring position, but he was left stranded there. He then smacked a one-out double in the seventh inning and raced around to score on an RBI knock off the bat of Xavier Edwards. The 28-year-old outfielder is now hitting is now hitting .239/.312/.388 with one homer, 11 RBI and three stolen bases in 77 plate appearances on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Ian Happ drives in two runs in Cubs’ victory
Ian Happ had two more hits and two more RBI against the Angels in Friday’s win.

Advice: Just like last night, it was again Happ and Seiya Suzuki, who hit a two-run homer, doing the heavy lifting for the Cubs offense. They both have .806 OPSs at the moment and, given the state of the NL outfield poor, legitimate cases for All-Star nods. Happ probably has the better argument, since he’s played in 20 more games than Suzuki. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:32 pm

    • Tigers officially recall Parker Meadows on Friday
Tigers recalled OF Parker Meadows from Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: As expected, the dynamic 24-year-old outfielder will rejoin the big-league club after spending nearly two months refining his approach at the plate at Triple-A Toledo. He’ll start in center field and bat eighth against Carson Spiers and the Reds on Friday evening in Cincinnati. Prior to his demotion, Meadows was slashing a cringe-inducing .096/.224/.219 with two homers, three RBI, three stolen bases and a 32/11 K/BB ratio over 85 plate appearances. • Back in big leagues
The Tigers recalled Meadows from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Advice: Meadows was the Tigers' Opening Day center fielder but was sent down in early May after going just 7-for-73 at the plate. He got on track at Toledo to earn another chance, producing a .298/.394/.511 batting line with eight home runs and 19 stolen bases. Meadows also struck out at just a 19 percent rate with Toledo after he had fanned at a 37.7 percent clip earlier this year with the Tigers. He should operate as Detroit's regular center fielder at least against right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:02 pm
    • Returns to Colorado lineup
Doyle (calf) will start in center field and bat fifth in Friday's game versus the Royals.

Advice: He didn't play in Thursday's game against the Brewers after fouling a ball off his calf the day before, but Doyle is ready to roll for the series opener versus Kansas City. Doyle is one of four players this season with 10-plus home runs and 20-plus stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:30 pm
    • Swats 12th homer Thursday
Profar went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run in Thursday's 3-1 win against Texas.

Advice: Profar powered the Padres to a 2-0 lead with his his solo blast to right field in the sixth inning. The recently anointed All-Star continues to be productive, gathering at least one hit in 15 of his past 16 contests and slashing .295/.348/.443 with two homers, 11 RBI, 11 runs and a stolen base over that span. Profar ranks third among qualified hitters with a .317 batting average on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:29 am
    • Snaps slump with three hits
Verdugo went 3-for-4 with two doubles in Thursday's loss to Cincinnati.

Advice: Verdugo entered Thursday in the throes of a 12-game slump during which he went 6-for-47 (.128 average). The outfielder showed positive signs of getting back on track against the Reds, not only collecting three knocks but also producing two extra-base hits -- as many as he had tallied during that entire 12-game downturn. While Verdugo is on pace to set a career high in homers and RBI this season (he has nine long balls and 43 runs batted in through 85 games), his .248 batting average and .305 OBP are both on pace for his lowest marks since his 15-game cup of coffee with the Dodgers in 2017. • Tigers to call up OF Parker Meadows
Tigers are calling up OF Parker Meadows from Triple-A, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press.

Advice: Meadows struggled mightily with the Tigers earlier this year. He hit .096 with two home runs in 32 games with Detroit. Meadows hit .298 with eight home runs and 19 stolen bases in 47 games with Triple-A Toledo. The average could continue to be a problem, but if he can just get on base he should be a good source of steals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:11 am
    • On base three times Thursday
Chisholm went 1-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-innings loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: He was also caught stealing, giving the center fielder 15 steals in 23 attempts on the season. Chisholm had drawn just one free pass over his prior 13 games, so his display of patience was unexpected and not likely to be repeated any time soon. On the year, 26-year-old is slashing .259/.326/.416 through 84 contests with 10 homers, 37 runs and 40 RBI, and most importantly Chisholm has stayed healthy after missing 167 games across the last two seasons.
