Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters late Thursday that Juan Soto will undergo further imaging on his left forearm.

Advice: Boone added that Soto has been playing through a lingering forearm issue for roughly a week at this juncture, which he’s continued to receive treatment to address, but he didn’t want to risk sending him back out there following a lengthy 56-minute rain delay during Thursday’s contest against the Twins. The 25-year-old fantasy superstar will undergo some precautionary imaging to determine the severity of the issue. There should be an update on his status ahead of Friday’s highly-anticipated series opener against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Boone also told reporters that top prospect Jasson Domínguez, who is in the final stages of his rehabilitation process from Tommy John surgery, is the only healthy outfielder on New York’s 40-man roster at the moment and could be brought back in an emergency situation, if needed. Sonny Gray allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday.



Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked four and struck out five. It was an uneven start for Gray, who threw 89 pitches. He had two wild pitches, one of which allowed a run to score. Gray also had a pitch clock violation. While his ERA increased to 3.21 on the year, his xFIP is much lower at 2.64. Juan Soto was removed from Thursday’s series finale against the Twins due to left forearm discomfort.

Advice: Soto was 0-for-1 with a pair of walks before leaving the contest following a 56-minute rain delay prior to the sixth inning. It certainly sounds like his exit was merely for precautionary reasons, but there should be an update on his status prior to Friday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. It’s unclear whether they’re linked, but top prospect Jasson Domínguez was lifted from a rehab contest for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre shortly after Soto’s early exit. Walker Buehler was charged with four runs (three earned) over three innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Buehler was staked to a four-run lead before taking the mound at PNC Park, but it vanished by the third inning of this one as he was tagged for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Nick Gonzales. It wasn’t completely his fault as the Dodgers committed a pair of errors and weren’t able to make a couple catches on balls that ended up going for hits and drove up his pitch count in the process. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty holds a lackluster 4.82 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 28 innings (six starts). He hasn’t quite returned to fantasy ace status yet, but it’s still early considering how much time he’s missed since undergoing his second Tommy John surgery. According to The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude, Andrés Muñoz (back) is “determined to pitch through his back strain” and will likely avoid an IL stint.

Advice: The Mariners’ closer has been pitching through the strain since the second game of the season, which may explain why he has had some “off nights” during the 2024 season. However, he has also pitched to a 1.73 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 26 innings, so it hasn’t been impacting him too much. “I’ve been here before,” said Munoz. “I’ve felt like this before, so I know we can manage that and be ready to go. ...
