    • Triple, three RBI in win
Soto went 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Angels while also drawing two walks.

Advice: The right fielder walked in his second plate appearance before coming around to score on a home run from Aaron Judge. Soto would later add a bases-loaded triple in the seventh as he reached base three times for the second consecutive game. He's up to 24 RBI in the month of May, and his 49 RBI on the season have him tied for second in MLB with Marcell Ozuna, behind only Jose Ramirez's 57. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:47 am

    • Juan Soto triples home three against Angels
Juan Soto hit a three-run triple to help the Yankees to a win Thursday over the Angels.

Advice: Soto also drew a pair of walks. The three-run triple extended New York’s lead to 7-1, and gave the 25-year-old 49 RBI; tying him for second in the majors. Soto has been outstanding in his first year in pinstripes, and there’s loads of reasons to believe he’ll continue this good run over the next 100-plus games. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:24 pm

    • IL stint expected to be brief
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that he's optimistic O'Neill's (knee) stay on the 10-day injured list will be a short one, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill landed on the IL on Wednesday with right knee inflammation, an injury that he had been playing with for a while. While Cora didn't exactly commit to O'Neill requiring just the minimum 10-day absence, it does not appear he will be out long. He's eligible for activation June 5. Rob Refsnyder appears most likely to soak up the bulk of the playing time at designated hitter while O'Neill is out, although the Red Sox have Connor Wong at DH and Reese McGuire at catcher Thursday versus the Tigers. • Arozarena hitting 2nd for Rays on Thursday
Randy Arozarena will hit second for Tampa Bay against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: With a left-hander on the mound, the Rays will deploy their right-hand heavy lineup, which means Richie Palacios, Brandon Lowe, and Jonathan Aranda will all head to the bench. That allows Yandy Diaz to lead off and Arozarena to move up to second in the order. The 29-year-old has been struggling for the entirety of the 2024 season, but perhaps hitting in front of the Rays’ middle-of-the-order bats will give him more good pitches to hit and lead to a solid performance. • Goes deep in loss
Happ went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Happ is 5-for-15 over his last four games, and three of those hits have left the yard. The outfielder had only two home runs across 47 games before this recent hot streak, but he blasted 20 or more long balls in two of the last three seasons, so it wouldn't be surprising to see his power production continue to trend upward. • Ian Happ goes yard in loss to Brewers
Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Happ took Bryse Wilson deep to right field for a solo homer in the second inning to put the Cubs on the board. He then led off the fourth with a base hit and scored on a groundout before bringing a run in with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The 29-year-old outfielder is slashing .226/.329/.376 with five homers, 28 runs scored, and two steals across 216 plate appearances. His underlying stats have all nearly matched his 2023 season with the exception of his strikeout rate, which is up to 28 percent after posting a 22 percent mark last season. • Red Sox place Tyler O’Neill (knee) on IL
Red Sox placed OF Tyler O’Neill on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 26, with right knee inflammation.

Advice: The Red Sox were hopeful that the 28-year-old slugger wouldn’t require a stint on the injured list, but they still believe that it’ll be a short stay there and he’ll be ready to return as soon as he’s eligible. Perhaps a few days off to clear his head will help his recent struggles at the dish as well. Enmanuel Valdez was recalled from Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move on Wednesday. • Lands on injured list
The Red Sox placed O'Neill on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to right knee inflammation, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: O'Neill has been dealing with knee problems since leaving Sunday's game against the Brewers, and he traveled back to Boston on Tuesday to undergo imaging. The results of his tests seem to have only revealed inflammation, but his injury is still serious enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. The outfielder's move to the IL is retroactive to Sunday, so he will be eligible to return beginning June 5. Until then, Enmanuel Valdez will come up from the minors to fill the open roster spot. • Homers in first game with Charlotte
Robert (hip) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's rehab appearance with Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Tuesday was Robert's first game with Charlotte after he spent the previous five days with the team's rookie-level Arizona Complex League club. He also started in center field and played seven innings, a good sign that he's nearing his return from the injured list. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 am
