    • Allows one run in save
Fairbanks picked up the save over the Royals on Thursday, allowing one run on one hit over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Fairbanks entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and retired the first two batters in succession before surrendering a solo homer to Bobby Witt. The right-hander was then able to get Vinnie Pasquantino to ground out for the final out of the game, securing his 14th save of the season. Fairbanks has now converted each of his last four save attempts, though he's also allowed a run in four of his last nine appearances. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago
    • Xander Bogaerts reaches twice in rehab contest
Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a walk on Thursday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A El Paso.

Advice: Bogaerts, who was at designated hitter on Thursday in his rehab assignment debut, is working his way back from a fractured left shoulder that sent him to the injured list back on May 20. The 31-year-old figures to return as San Diego’s primary option at the keystone, but could wind up bouncing around between several positions moving forward. He’s going to require additional rehab contests to get back up to speed before returning to San Diego’s lineup. Rotoworld Today, 3:23 am

    • Swats homer in victory
Pena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Thursday's 5-3 victory against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Houston and Toronto combined for 19 hits in the contest, but only two went for extra bases, and Pena notched the lone long ball with his solo shot to left field in the seventh inning. The shortstop has hit two homers and two doubles during his current four-game hitting streak, and he's driven in three runs while scoring four times during that span. The recent upswing in power is a welcome sign for Pena's fantasy managers after he went deep just five times across his first 80 contests of the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:16 pm

    • Pete Fairbanks picks up 14th save Thursday vs. Royals
Peter Fairbanks gave up one run and picked up his 14th save of the season on Thursday against the Royals.

Advice: Fairbanks gave up a solo home run to Bobby Witt Jr. in a three-run game in the ninth inning, but still managed to hang on to preserve the win. Fairbanks has a 3.23 ERA on the season and just saved his ninth game since June 1. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:43 pm
    • Goes six innings in no-decision
Burnes allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Advice: Burnes, who welcomed twins over the weekend, was strong in his return to the mound. He threw 62 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he gave up both runs in the fifth inning, including one on a solo home run by Julio Rodriguez. Burnes has posted a quality start in all but one of his last 13 outings, though this was just the second time in his last seven starts that he didn't come away with a win. He has an excellent 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB through 112.2 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs and should be set to pitch on a regular schedule with the Orioles electing for a five-man rotation moving forward. • Corbin Burnes tallies six strikeouts vs. Mariners
Corbin Burnes struck out six and allowed two runs over six innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Burnes set down 12 straight batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout into the fifth inning, before coughing up a gargantuan solo homer to Mariners struggling superstar Julio Rodríguez. He proceeded to load the bases with nobody out in the frame, but managed to wriggle out of the jam with only one run crossing the plate. The overall strikeout total doesn’t seem that impressive, but he generated an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes and finished with a 31 percent CSW. The 29-year-old fantasy ace will bring a sparkling 2.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 105/25 K/BB ratio across 112 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Cubs in his final start prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Yandy Díaz gets rare day off Thursday vs. Royals
Yandy Díaz is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Díaz, who is rarely out of Tampa Bay’s lineup. It’ll be Isaac Paredes moving over to cover first base in his absence on the Fourth of July in Kansas City. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:31 pm

    • Idle Thursday
Diaz isn't in the Rays' lineup Thursday versus the Royals.

Advice: Diaz is getting an off day Thursday after going 1-for-9 in the first two games of the series versus the Royals. This is the first baseman's first absence from the lineup since May 25. Isaac Paredes will shift over from third to first and Jose Caballero will enter the lineup at third in the ninth spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:27 pm

    • Jeremy Peña homers, reaches thrice in victory
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a homer in a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Peña extended Houston’s lead to 5-3 with a homer in the seventh inning off Trevor Richards. The 26-year-old shortstop has homered seven times in 2024, and a three-reach game helps improve his slash to .280/.327/.400 over 325 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:52 pm
