    Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) is expected to progress to a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week.

    Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters Edman fielded grounders on Friday without any ankle issues, and will progress to a rehab assignment with either Double-A Springfield or Triple-A Memphis in the coming days, assuming he gets through the rest of the weekend without a setback.     Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hand) was held out of the Marlins’ starting lineup on Friday after being hit by a pitch on Thursday.

    Advice: X-rays came back negative for any fractures, but the 26-year-old outfielder was still a bit sore on Friday so the decision was made to hold him out of action.
