• CES has three hits in win over Phillies
Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: It was a much-needed big game for CES, who raised his triple slash to .216/.220/.352 on the season. His hardest hit ball of the day was a 100 mph lineout, but he also had a single and a double that were each over 93.5 mph. It’s not lighting up a radar gun, but it’s nice to see him making consistent hard contact. The impressive depth that the Reds had at the start of the season is now gone due to injury, so he should have a long enough leash to work through his early season struggles. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago
  • Luis Arraez tallies two hits in loss to Braves
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 in the Marlins’ loss to the Braves.

Advice: There’s not much to say here, as Arraez’s two hits made up all but one of the Marlins’ hits in the shutout loss. Arraez has now hit safely in three straight games and has eight hits over his last five. He’s hitting just .284 on the year, but his 29 hits are still good for top 10 in the league. • Rafael Devers (knee) set to return on Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Rafael Devers (knee) will return for Wednesday’s contest against the Guardians.

Advice: Devers has been limited to just 12 plate appearances since April 11 due to separate knee and shoulder injuries. All indications are that the 27-year-old franchise cornerstone won’t wind up requiring a trip to the injured list and should return to Boston’s lineup on Wednesday night following a five-game absence due to a bone bruise in his left knee. • José Ramírez homers, Guardians roll past Red Sox
José Ramírez walloped a solo homer on Tuesday, powering the Guardians to a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: Ramírez doubled Cleveland’s lead with an eighth-inning solo shot off Red Sox reliever Cam Booser. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season. He’s started to heat up over the last few contests, recording at least one hit in seven of his last eight games since April 14, and also has a pair of big flies during that span. • Marco Luciano batting .303 at Triple-A Sacramento
Giants SS prospect Marco Luciano went 2-for-5 with three RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Luciano is hitting .303 (23-for-76) with zero homers, 13 RBI and three steals through 19 contests this season. He’s still striking out at a healthy clip, which remains his biggest obstacle to long-term fantasy relevance. It’s worth noting that the Giants have been extremely satisfied with veteran defensive standout Nick Ahmed at shortstop so far this year, so he’s unlikely to receive a call up unless injuries strike. • Kris Bryant (back) won’t return this week
Kris Bryant (back) has yet to resume baseball activities.

Advice: If there’s a positive takeaway here it’s that Rockies manager Bud Black didn’t seem too concerned on Tuesday while speaking with reporters, adding that there’s no talk of surgery for Bryant, and he hasn’t undergone any additional testing or imaging. The 32-year-old is eligible to return from the injured list this week, but that won’t happen. He remains shut down as he continues to recover from a lower back strain. Rotoworld Today, 4:38 pm

  • Exits rehab game early
LeMahieu (foot) was forced to exit his rehab start with Double-A Somerset in the second inning, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: LeMahieu left the contest after striking out in the top of first frame and playing third base in the bottom of the inning. He was making his first start with Somerset and was expected to appear in three more contests before returning to the major-league roster. The 35-year-old is now set to undergo examinations on his foot in New York on Wednesday according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. More information on his status will be provided following the testing, but it certainly appears as if LeMahieu suffered a setback in his recovery of a bone bruise and fracture in his right foot. • DJ LeMahieu exits rehab debut with foot soreness
DJ LeMahieu was removed from Tuesday’s minor league rehab game for Double-A Somerset due to right foot soreness.

Advice: It’s not what you want to see. LeMahieu struck out in his lone plate appearances and lasted just one inning at third base in his rehab assignment debut before leaving the contest. It’s a notable development since he was expected to play at least a couple innings in this one. The 35-year-old veteran, who has been out since spring training due to a non-displaced fracture in his right foot, is heading back to New York to be re-evaluated. Not good. Rotoworld Today, 4:23 pm

  • Royce Lewis (quad) to be re-evaluated this week
Twins general manager Derek Faley told reporters Royce Lewis (quad) will be re-evaluated later this week.

Advice: Lewis resumed baseball activities last week as he continues his recovery from a severe right quad strain that he suffered back on Opening Day. There should be a clearer timetable for his return following his latest evaluation. Rotoworld Today, 4:12 pm
