    • Sitting against lefty
Heyward is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Heyward will join fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Lux and Cavan Biggio on the bench for the series finale in Colorado while the Rockies bring lefty Ty Blach to the hill. With Heyward sitting, Miguel Vargas will pick up a start in left field and will bat seventh. Rotowire.com Today, 9:41 am
    • Resting against lefty
Biggio is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Biggio will join fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Lux and Jason Heyward on the bench for the series finale in Colorado while the Rockies send southpaw Ty Blach to the hill. Enrique Hernandez will enter the lineup at third base as Biggio's replacement. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am

    • Getting day off versus lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lux will sit for the second time in the four-game series while the Rockies send another southpaw (Ty Blach) to the bump. Chris Taylor will fill in for Lux at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 9:37 am

    • Resuming rehab assignment Friday
Thomas (hamstring) is scheduled to resume his rehab assignment Friday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: After going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the third game of his current rehab assignment in the ACL on Monday, Thomas reported what Arizona manager Torey Lovullo termed as "general soreness." Fortunately for Thomas, he looks to have avoided a setback, and he'll be back in action Friday with the soreness having subsided. Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona adds that Thomas is also scheduled to play in an ACL game Sunday, and if all goes well, the outfielder could shift his rehab assignment to a higher-level affiliate next week. Thomas has been on the shelf since April 1 with a strained left hamstring and was pulled off his initial rehab assignment in early May after experienced renewed discomfort. • Added as 27th man
The Giants recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.

Advice: Fitzgerald will serve as the team's 27th man during Thursday's game against the Cardinals at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala. The utility player is likely to be sent back to Sacramento following the contest. Rotowire.com Today, 9:11 am

    • Miguel Vargas starting against lefty
Miguel Vargas is starting in left field and batting seventh for the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: With the Dodgers facing left-hander Ty Blach, it will be Vargas in left field with Jason Heyward getting the day off. Vargas has some intriguing plate discipline and power growth this season in the minors, but the Dodgers seem unlikely to play him against right-handed pitching, which will limit his fantasy value in redraft leagues. • Getting third straight start
DeLuca will start in left field and bat sixth in Thursday's game against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: DeLuca will draw his third consecutive start against a right-handed pitcher (Simeon Woods Richardson), but after going 1-for-8 with a walk in the previous two contests, he'll probably need to pick up the pace at the plate to ensure he continues seeing regular playing time. The 25-year-old made some waves by producing three two-hit games in his first five starts when he returned from the injured list May 3, but he's slashing just .102/.202/.170 from May 8 onward. • Jonny DeLuca making third straight start
Jonny DeLuca is starting in left field for the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: This is now the third straight start for DeLuca, who has played each outfield position over the last three days. On Thursday, it will be Richie Palacios who gets a day off despite the Rays facing a right-handed pitcher. The 25-year-old DeLuca is just 2-for-34 in 11 games in June, so the playing time hasn’t been doing much for fantasy managers. DeLuca can be left on the wire in most formats. Rotoworld Today, 8:59 am
    • Reaches three times in win
Schuemann went 0-for-2 with three walks and a run in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Schuemann busy night on the basepaths surprisingly led to only one run, but it did push his OBP back up to an improving .318. The rookie has hit safely in three of the last four games, and his walk rate has now hit double digits (10.1 percent) after also sitting at that threshold in each of the last six minor-league stops before his promotion.
