• Juan Soto reaches three times, Yankees edge Astros
Juan Soto went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of walks on Thursday, leading the Yankees to a narrow 5-4 win over the Astros.

Advice: Soto kicked off the scoring for the Yankees with a fifth-inning RBI single against Astros starter Framber Valdez and wound up reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances in his Yankees debut. The 25-year-old fantasy superstar will continue batting second for New York ahead of Aaron Judge, which should give him a decent shot at leading the majors in the runs scored department. • New ace: Burnes strikes out 11 in win over Angels
Corbin Burnes dominated in his Orioles’ debut on Thursday, spinning six innings of one-run ball with 11 strikeouts as Baltimore trounced the Angels 11-3 on Opening Day.

Advice: You couldn’t have asked for much more than that. Burnes actually gave up a first-inning homer to Mike Trout, but it turned out to be the only hit he allowed on the day. He also didn’t walk a batter. In fact, Burnes retired the final 16 batters he faced before being pulled at 82 pitches. His 11 strikeouts were the most by an Orioles pitcher on Opening Day since Mike Mussina in 1998. With a pitcher-friendly home stadium and a great lineup backing him, Burnes is poised for a monster season as the O’s new ace. Rotoworld Today, 3:03 pm

  • Santander homers, drives in four runs vs. Angels
Anthony Santander homered and knocked in four runs as the Orioles topped the Angels on Opening Day on Thursday.

Advice: Santander drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the first inning and delivered a sacrifice fly before taking Jose Suarez deep in the fourth to effectively put the game out of reach. Despite hitting 61 homers with 184 RBI over the past two seasons, Santander didn’t get a lot of respect in fantasy drafts this spring. With this potent Orioles’ lineup, he should remain plenty productive. Rotoworld Today, 3:01 pm

  • D-backs place Paul Sewald (oblique) on 15-day IL
Diamondbacks placed RHP Paul Sewald on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: It’ll most likely be Kevin Ginkel handling the save chances for Arizona with Sewald sidelined to open the season with a Grade 2 left oblique strain. There isn’t a firm timetable yet for his potential return, but fantasy managers should expect him to miss at least a few weeks. Rotoworld Today, 1:25 pm

  • Lands on 15-day IL
The Diamondbacks placed Sewald (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Sewald is eligible to return from the IL on April 9, but given that he was diagnosed earlier this week with a Grade 2 left oblique strain, he'll most likely be sidelined well beyond the 15-day minimum. In Sewald's absence, the Diamondbacks are likely to turn over closing duties to Kevin Ginkel. Rotowire.com Today, 10:08 am

  • Brandon Drury drives in two runs vs. Dodgers
Brandon Drury went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI in the Angels’ 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Drury doubled off James Paxton in the first inning to drive in Taylor Ward and Mike Trout, giving the Angels their first runs of the day. His hot spring comes to an end with a slash line of .353/.421/.931, as the Angels second baseman also totaled one homer and nine RBI. With back-to-back seasons of 25-plus homers and 80-plus RBI, Drury should be primed for another productive fantasy season batting in the middle of the Angels’ lineup. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:34 pm

  • In line to bat second
Guerrero is expected to open the season batting second for the Blue Jays, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

Advice: The overwhelming majority of Guerrero's starts last season came from the third (110 games) or fourth (36 games) spots in the Toronto batting order. However, manager John Schneider basically confirmed Tuesday that he planned to slide Guerrero up to the No. 2 hole in between George Springer and Bo Bichette. Justin Turner will follow them in the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:09 pm

  • Bryce Miller holds down Padres for four innings
Bryce Miller allowed one run and one hit over four innings Monday as the Mariners bested the Padres 4-1.

Advice: Miller had little luck with his new splitter tonight, but he was still effective in allowing just one hit. He ends the spring 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA and a 13/6 K/BB in 12 innings. His next start will come Sunday in the finale of a four-game series against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Monday, 10:34 pm

  • Paul Sewald sidelined with oblique injury
Paul Sewald has a grade 2 left oblique strain and will be sidelined for an extended period of time, according to D-backs manager Torey Lovullo.

Advice: Lovullo added that the injury will sideline the 33-year-old reliever for weeks, not days. The veteran pitcher didn’t allow a run in his six spring game appearances, but struggled to get much velocity on his fastball throughout camp. Rotoworld Monday, 4:07 pm
