• Rockies activate Kyle Freeland for Sunday start
Rockies activated LHP Kyle Freeland from the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Freeland returns to Colorado’s starting rotation to take the ball for Sunday’s series finale against the Nationals at Coors Field. The 31-year-old southpaw has been on the shelf since mid-April recovering from a left elbow strain. He doesn’t offer enough strikeout upside to warrant a speculative roster spot in shallow mixed leagues, but there’s occasional streaming potential in favorable road matchups moving forward. • Jalen Beeks gets win in relief vs. Nationals
Jalen Beeks fired 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Saturday to record a win in relief against the Nationals.

Advice: Beeks came on to record the final out of the eighth inning with the Rockies trailing by two runs at the time before coming out to spin a flawless ninth inning as well. Colorado’s lineup responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to give the veteran southpaw his fourth victory of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has excelled this year in his Rockies debut with six saves to accompany a serviceable 3.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 29/16 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (33 appearances). • Kyle Finnegan melts down in blown save vs. Rockies
Kyle Finnegan was charged with two runs and failed to record an out on Saturday in an ugly blown save against the Rockies.

Advice: Finnegan was saddled with a loss in the ninth inning after failing to hold a one-run lead at Coors Field. It was his first blown save since May 18. He gave up four consecutive hits to open the frame, including a game-tying single to Brenton Doyle, before handing out a bases-loaded free pass to Ryan McMahon to push across the game-winning run. It was a pretty legendary meltdown, but fantasy managers should overlook it considering the environment and how solid Finnegan has been overall this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:16 am
  • Fills stat sheet in win
Burleson went 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-4 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Burleson singled and scored in the first and then walked and stole a base in the third. The real damage came in his next two at-bats, as he hit a three-run home run in the fourth frame and a two-run blast in the sixth. This was the first two-homer game of Burleson's major-league career, and he now has six multi-hit efforts and seven home runs in June. The 25-year-old has been a steady source of production this season, hitting .281 with 12 home runs, 30 RBI and three steals over 235 at-bats. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:04 pm

  • Alec Burleson homers, plates five in blowout win
Alec Burleson went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI on Saturday, leading the Cardinals to a 9-4 blowout victory over the Giants.

Advice: Burleson also stole a base in this one, just for good measure. It was arguably a career day for the 25-year-old corner outfielder as he notched his first multi-homer performance in the big leagues by taking former teammate Jordan Hicks deep for a three-run shot in the fourth inning before tacking on a two-run blast off reliever Sean Hjelle a couple frames later. He’ll continue to play regularly against right-handed pitching and is quietly emerging as a potential 25-plus homer threat, which is pretty remarkable considering he looked like nothing more than a bench player last year in his full-season debut. • Drives in four runs
Thomas went 3-for-6 with a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over Colorado.

Advice: Thomas finished a home run shy of the cycle as he stuffed the stat sheet Friday. He knocked an RBI single in the third inning and a two-run double in the fourth before capping his day off with an RBI triple in the sixth. Thomas struggled early in the year, but in 24 games since returning from a knee injury he's gone 27-for-94 (.287) with 13 extra-base hits and 18 RBI. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:52 pm
  • Lane Thomas drives in four in win over Rockies
Lane Thomas drove in four runs while picking up three hits in an 11-5 win over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: One of those hits was a triple, and it scored CJ Abrams to give Washington their 11-5 win. He also doubled in a pair with another RBI coming on a single. Thomas also scored two runs while improving his slash to .238/.297/.420 along with 16 stolen bases in 46 games. Rotoworld Friday, 8:41 pm
  • Zac Gallen to throw another sim game on Monday
Zac Gallen (hamstring) is expected to throw around 70 pitches in another simulated game on Monday.

Advice: Assuming all goes well with that session, the expectation is that he’ll rejoin the Diamondbacks’ rotation next weekend against the Athletics. The 28-year-old hurler had posted a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 60/15 K/BB ratio over 57 2/3 innings through his first 11 starts. Rotoworld Friday, 3:03 pm

  • Four hits in loss
Bailey went 4-for-5 in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Bailey is 14-for-37 (.378) over his last 10 games, and the lone contest in that span in which he failed to log a hit was one where he appeared off the bench. While the catcher is making consistent contact, it hasn't been particularly powerful -- he has just two extra-base hits in that span. Overall, he's at a .299/.367/.439 slash line with five homers, two stolen bases, 23 RBI, 19 runs scored and eight doubles through 50 contests. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:20 am
