    • Snaps slump with homer
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

Advice: Burleson entered Sunday 0-for-17 over his last four games. He ended the drought -- his longest of the season -- with a third-inning blast to put the Cardinals ahead 4-2. Burleson has been forced into a larger role with the Cardinals lacking several starters, including Lars Nootbaar (oblique), who is expected to be out for nearly all of June. Burleson is slashing .273/.302/.418 with six homers, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases over 50 contests and should have a chance to continue playing on a near-everyday basis for the foreseeable future. • Perfect for save No. 15
Iglesias picked up the save Sunday against Oakland, tossing a perfect inning with no strikeouts.

Advice: Iglesias needed just nine pitches to retire Zack Gelof, Kyle McCann and Max Shuemann in order. The 34-year-old is 15-for-17 on save chances this season and has allowed one hit in his last five innings of work. Overall, Iglesias has the fourth most saves in the NL and owns a 2.42 ERA through 22.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:14 pm

    • Alec Burleson slugs two-run home run in loss
Alec Burleson slugged a two-run homer on Sunday night as the Cardinals rallied late to beat the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Advice: Burleson walloped a 405-foot (105.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Taijuan Walker in the third inning that gave the Cardinals a 4-2 advantage. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 25-year-old slugger is slashing .273/.302/.418 to go with six long balls and 20 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

    • Nico Hoerner has two hits in loss to Reds
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with. • Sean Murphy drives in go-ahead run
Sean Murphy went 1-for-3 with a run-scoring double in a 3-1 win over the Athletics on Sunday. He also walked.

Advice: Murphy delivered the big blow against his former team on Sunday as he still tries to get his feet wet this season. The double was his first extra-base hit so far in just his fifth game after straining his oblique on opening day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:27 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias earns 15th save
Raisel Iglesias pitched a clean ninth inning on Sunday against the Athletics to earn the save.

Advice: Iglesias grabbed another save, but once again did not strike a batter out. His 18.6 K% entering play Sunday is by far the lowest for any reliever with at least 10 saves and should give some concern moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:26 pm

    • Not in Sunday's lineup
Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Sosa started the past 10 games at shortstop and posted a 1.026 OPS during that span, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's contest. Bryson Stott will shift to shortstop while Kody Clemens receives a start at the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm

    • Sitting in second straight game
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Diaz will give way to Victor Caratini behind the plate for the second day in a row while he's in the midst of a prolonged slump at the plate. Dating back to May 1, Diaz is slashing .200/.213/.259 over a stretch of 25 games. Given that he's valued mainly for his contributions at the plate rather than as a pitch framer and game caller, Diaz's lengthy dry spell with the bat looks to be costing him playing time. The Astros have already pulled back on using Diaz as a designated hitter on days he doesn't catch; he started seven games at DH between March and April, but he hasn't made a start as the DH since May 17. • Idle against lefty
Merrill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Merrill will watch from the bench as lefty Cole Ragans gets the start for Kansas City. Jose Azocar will fill in for Merrill in center field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 am
