      Advice: Stanek came into the game tasked with preserving a newly minted 4-4 tie and quickly retired Luis Rengifo, Mickey Moniak and Taylor Ward -- the latter two on swinging strikeouts. The veteran right-hander then became the pitcher of record when Ty France slugged a go-ahead home run in the home half of the frame. Stanek now has four consecutive two-strikeout, one-inning appearances, and he's posted a 2-0 record with a 2.70 ERA, 0.45 WHIP, one save and two holds in his last seven outings overall.       James Outman went 4-for-6 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

      Advice: Outman was demoted to the minors a couple weeks ago after posting a disastrous .516 OPS with three homers and two steals in 36 games for Los Angeles, but he appears to be finding his groove at the dish again. The 27-year-old’s four-hit performance gives him a 1.245 OPS with three homers and four steals in just 10 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City.       MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense. The 26-year-old right-hander is 4-3 on the year with a 4.76 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 47:21 K:BB across 11 starts (58.2 innings).
