      Cubs transferred RHP Adbert Alzolay from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

      Advice: Alzolay is now off the 40-man roster, and the Cubs used that space to select the contract of David Bote. Alzolay has been on the injured list since May 13 with a forearm strain, and he’s now not eligible to return to the Chicago bullpen until July 13.       Logan Webb gave up four runs over seven innings on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees.

      Advice: Webb fell behind right away in this one when he served up a colossal two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening frame. He was tagged for a pair of additional runs in the third inning, but managed to escape further damage, and wound up still completing seven frames to spare San Francisco’s bullpen. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 27-year-old workhorse will carry a strong 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rangers.       Rooker went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and a two-run home run in a win over Atlanta on Saturday.

      Advice: Rooker extended the Athletics' lead to 8-3 via his 421-foot blast in the fourth inning with Max Schuemann aboard, and he then erased a 9-8 deficit in the sixth by bringing home Miguel Andujar and Schuemann with a timely two-bagger. The pair of extra-base hits pushed Rooker's total in that category to 24 (out of 49 total hits), and he's now reached safely in 12 straight games while getting on at a stellar .388 clip in that span.
