    • Juan Soto homers twice, Yankees crush White Sox
Juan Soto went 4-for-4 with two homers and three RBI to power the Yankees to a 6-1 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Soto blasted a solo homer in the first inning to put the Yankees on the board, his 10th of the season. He drove in another run with a single in the second, then went yard once again to lead off the fifth. A base hit in the eighth would make it a perfect day at the plate. It was the first multi-homer game for Soto as a member of the Yankees. The 25-year-old star outfielder is slashing .317/.414/.561 with 11 homers, 32 runs scored, 37 RBI, and four steals across 215 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:45 pm

    • Tim Anderson (back) starting rehab assignment
Tim Anderson (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Anderson hit the injured list earlier this month with lower back tightness and is already on the verge of returning. He could presumably be back early next week, barring something unexpected. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:29 am

    • Out again Saturday
Hoerner (hamstring) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Saturday marks the fifth game in a row that Hoerner has missed due to a sore left hamstring. The Cubs have been hopeful that the infielder would be able to avoid the injured list, but manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Hoerner may need to spend time on the IL if his hamstring continues to bother him. Nick Madrigal and Miles Mastrobuoni will once again serve as the Cubs' middle infielders Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 am

    • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) not in Saturday’s lineup
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains absent from the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Pirates.

Advice: There’s been zero indication that Hoerner will wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, but he’s out of Chicago’s lineup for the fifth straight game on Saturday afternoon due to ongoing left hamstring tightness. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but there’s a possibility the Cubs will have to send him to the injured list if he’s unable to return this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:38 am

    • Triston McKenzie works 6 2/3 on Friday
Triston McKenzie struck out five Twins across 6 ⅔ innings on Friday. He walked four, allowed two hits, and one earned run.

Advice: McKenzie’s success this season has been a welcome sight after an injury-riddled 2023. He’s still not quite back to the best version of himself yet, evidenced by the 5:4 strikeout to walk ratio in this start and paltry 5 K-BB% on the season. Rotoworld Friday, 8:44 pm
    • Quality start in no-decision
McKenzie did not factor into the decision Friday against the Twins, allowing one run on two hits and four walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: McKenzie posted his second consecutive quality start, and the Cleveland right-hander has made six straight starts in which he's allowed two or fewer runs while generating five or more strikeouts, producing a 2.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB in 34 innings over that stretch. McKenzie is scheduled to face the Mets at home in his next outing. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:39 pm
    • Kyle Harrison has start pushed back until Saturday
Kyle Harrison will have his start pushed back until Saturday, with Mason Black taking his place on Friday evening against the Rockies.

Advice: Giants’ manager Bob Melvin simply wanted to get Harrison and Jordan Hicks an extra day of rest, which is why he inserted Black into the team’s rotation on Friday night instead of in the spot vacated by the injured Keaton Winn (forearm). They both still get to take on the lowly Rockies, so nothing changes from a fantasy perspective. Rotoworld Friday, 3:33 pm
    • Has clubhouse locker, not with team
Crawford (oblique/hand) didn't travel with the team to Baltimore but has a locker in the Mariners' clubhouse, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The veteran shortstop was hit by a pitch on the hand during a rehab game Wednesday, and he's experienced some swelling and soreness. The fact that Crawford has a locker indicates he might return from the injured list this weekend. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:51 pm

    • Cleared for rehab assignment
Anderson (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson will play for Jacksonville on Saturday and Sunday before being reevaluated. He is eligible for activation from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and it would appear he's in line to return at that time. Anderson has been battling lower-back tightness, which could at least partially explain his .197/.234/.221 slash line on the season. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:46 pm
