    • Allows seven runs in loss
Gausman (6-7) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits, five walks and a hit batsman against the Yankees. He struck out seven.

Advice: Gausman needed 107 pitches to record 13 outs, allowing season highs in runs (seven) and walks (five) while being tagged for three extra-base hits including a first-inning Aaron Judge two-run blast. Gausman did strike out seven batters to represent the fourth time this season he's reached at least seven in an outing, but that's nothing more than a minor silver lining around Sunday's ugly performance. It's the fifth time this season Gausman has allowed at least five runs in a start, and he closes the month of June with a 5.64 ERA over 36.2 innings spanning six starts. His next start is tentatively slated for when the Blue Jays head west to take on the Mariners in Seattle next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Heim has a .163/.265/.233 slash line in his past 13 games and will sit for Sunday's series finale. Andrew Knizner will take over behind the plate and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:59 pm

    • Kevin Gausman loses, struggles again
Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs in just 4 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Yankees. He walked five and struck out seven in a loss.

Advice: Gausman just hasn’t been right all year. Aaron Judge crushed a first-inning fastball that wasn’t up-and-in enough and the Yankees kept traffic on the bases seemingly every inning. His tried and true game plan of fastballs and splitters does not have the same potency it used to as his fastball velocity has dipped and hitters don’t chase or whiff on that splitter like they once did. • Retreating to bench Sunday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though he's on the bench for Sunday's series finale, Freeman appears to have moved back into a quasi-everyday role with Will Brennan (ribs) recently landing on the injured list. Freeman, who has slashed .169/.272/.268 thus far in June, had started in each of the Guardians' last five games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am

    • Officially heads to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday,

Advice: As expected, Megill will return to the minors after he was knocked around for six earned runs over 5.1 innings in Saturday's 9-6 loss to Houston. Over his five starts in June, the right-hander turned in a 7.43 ERA and 1.74 WHIP across 23 innings. The Mets are likely to call up Christian Scott from Triple-A Syracuse later this week to replace Megill in the rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 am

    • Progressing, but timeline unknown
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that Bednar is making progress in his recovery from a left oblique strain, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Though Cherington struck an optimistic tone about Bednar's health, the two-time All-Star doesn't appear to have a concrete timeline to return from the 15-day injured list. Bednar is first eligible for activation next weekend, but because he has yet to resume throwing since landing on the shelf, he doesn't appear to be on track for a return in the minimum amount of time. • Fans nine in win
Lopez (8-6) earned the win over the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings while striking out nine.

Advice: Lopez stumbled a bit over the first three frames, allowing a walk and four hits, including a solo home run off the bat of Mitch Haniger. However, the right-hander recovered nicely after the early hiccups, fanning six of the nine batters he faced over his final three innings of work as Minnesota took a 5-1 lead. Lopez induced 18 swinging strikes on the night and now has 25 strikeouts over his last 14 innings on the mound. He's also won his last three decisions (spanning four starts) and has logged a quality start in back-to-back outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:21 am

    • Continues to rake
Rengifo went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: Rengifo singled in his second trip to the plate before swiping his 21st bag of the season and later coming home to score the Angels' first run of the contest. The third baseman added another single in the seventh before coming around to score for a second time, giving him his fourth consecutive multi-hit game as well as his fourth straight game with at least one run scored. Rengifo has really come alive on offense as of late, batting .325 (13-for-40) over his last 10 contests with two homers, four RBI, three stolen bases and nine runs scored. His .317 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind only Shohei Ohtani. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:06 am

    • Pablo López strikes out nine in victory over M’s
Pablo López recorded nine strikeouts and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: We certainly hope you weren’t one of the fantasy managers that bailed on López during his persistent struggles earlier this month as he’s recorded at least nine strikeouts in back-to-back outings and has allowed just one earned run over 14 innings of work during that span, capitalizing on a pair of favorable road matchups against the Athletics and Mariners, respectively. The underlying expected stats pointed to some regression from a run-prevention standpoint, so we’re not totally surprised that he’s reverted to form after a handful of rough outings. He’ll aim to keep the momentum going when he squares off against the Astros on Friday in his penultimate start prior to the upcoming All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:44 am
