    • Another strong outing in win
Lugo (9-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing one run on six hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings.

Advice: Lugo won five of his six starts in May, allowing just nine runs (eight earned) over 40.1 innings in the month. This was just the fourth time in 12 starts Lugo has allowed nine or more baserunners, as he's been one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors this season. The right-hander is now at a 1.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 66:18 K:BB over 78.1 innings this season. Lugo's next start is projected to be at Cleveland in a battle between the AL Central's two best teams. • Seth Lugo with another quality start, victory
Seth Lugo stayed on track allowing just one earned run across six innings in a 6-1 win over the Twins. He struck out five and walked three.

Advice: Lugo continued his stellar season earning his ninth win. He only induced nine whiffs and the Twins made plenty of hard contact with nine hard-hit balls, but Lugo once again managed to limit damage. He continues to mix eight pitches and saw his ERA drop to 1.72 in what’s been one of the biggest surprises of the young season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:18 pm

    • Corbin Burnes defeats Red Sox to improve to 5-2
Corbin Burnes picked up his fifth victory of the season on Wednesday night, limiting the Red Sox to just one unearned run on three hits over seven strong frames.

Advice: Burnes racked up five strikeouts on the night while issuing two free passes. The lone tally against him came via a one-out single, throwing error, errant pickoff throw and ground ball combination in the second inning. The 29-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 108 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll attempt to keep the good times rolling when he toes the slab against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:12 pm

    • Hits IL with shoulder impingement
The Mets placed Diaz on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder impingement.

Advice: Left-hander Josh Walker was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take Diaz's spot on the 26-man active roster and in the New York bullpen. After blowing ninth-inning leads in four of his last five appearances, Diaz had already been expected to get a break from closing duties, and his injury will only further delay his opportunity to resurface as the Mets' preferred ninth-inning man. Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino likely represent the best bets for saves out of the Mets bullpen while Diaz is on the shelf. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:01 pm

    • Mets place Díaz on IL with shoulder impingement
Mets placed RHP Edwin Díaz on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder impingement.

Advice: Well, this is definitely not something the Mets were planning a few hours ago, since Díaz’s replacement on the roster, Josh Walker, was just sent down earlier today. It’s nice to have this explanation for Díaz’s struggles, even if those struggles still seemed pretty fluky. Reed Garrett is probably the best bet in the Mets pen for now, though Adam Ottavino could get save chances as well. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:59 pm

    • Tosses six shutout frames
Wheeler did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Giants, throwing six scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and two walks. He struck out nine.

Advice: Wheeler's excellent start got wasted after the Phillies were shut out in Tuesday's loss. The Giants scattered just two hits against him, and his most dominant inning came in the third when he struck out the side. Tuesday was Wheeler's third start this season tossing a shutout while allowing two or fewer hits and striking out at least eight. He now has nine quality starts in 12 tries and will carry a 2.32 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 85:23 K:BB (73.2 innings) into a projected outing against the Brewers to begin next week. • Blanks Mets for fifth win
Stone (5-2) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets, scattering three hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

Advice: The 25-year-old righty delivered his best performance of the season, firing 63 of 87 pitches for strikes in his sixth quality start of the year. Stone's seven Ks were a season high, and he'll take a 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:17 K:BB through 57 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Rockies. • Zack Wheeler shuts down Giants in no-decision
Zack Wheeler blanked the Giants for six innings, allowing just two hits, in a no-decision Tuesday.

Advice: Wheeler wasn’t at his most efficient tonight, but that didn’t really matter, since the Phillies went 10 innings without scoring. It’s Wheeler’s ninth quality start in 12 tries, and he lowered his ERA to 2.32. Still, the Phillies bizarrely are only 6-6 when he pitches, compared to 32-12 the rest of the time. • Secures save Tuesday
Estevez pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: The Angels rallied ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Estevez made the lead stand. The closer has allowed four runs (three earned) over 8.1 innings in May while adding three saves, one blown save and two losses. He's at a 4.76 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB over 17 innings this season, but he continues to operate in the closer role despite his shaky pitching. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:45 pm
