    • Pops grand slam Wednesday
Kelly went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Kelly was one of four Detroit players to go deep, and his third inning shot was the biggest blow of the game. It was the catcher's sixth home run of the season and he's now up to 25 RBI. Kelly continues to split time behind the plate with Jake Rogers, though the former has been more effective offensively, which could lead to an increased role in the months ahead. • Cal Raleigh blasts solo homer in loss to O’s
Cal Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Raleigh’s solo homer in the sixth inning off Keegan Akin provided the only offense the Mariners could muster on Wednesday against Baltimore. The 27-year-old backstop is hitting .201/.288/.394 with 15 homers, 51 RBI, and four steals across 313 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

    • Goes deep in win
Marchan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Marchan's homer was his second in his last four games, and this was his second multi-hit effort of the season. The catcher is batting .250 with three homers, five RBI, six runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases over 39 plate appearances. Marchan and Garrett Stubbs continue to split the catching duties while J.T. Realmuto recovers from a right knee surgery. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:32 pm
    • William Contreras collects three hits vs. Rockies
William Contreras went 3-for-4 against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: The All-Star catcher just keeps hitting. Contreras collected three base hits against the Rockies on Wednesday, though didn’t have a run or RBI to show for it. The 26-year-old catcher is slashing an outstanding .297/.357/.449 with 10 homers, 59 runs scored, 51 RBI and five steals across 378 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm
    • Carson Kelly blasts grand slam in rout over Twins
Carson Kelly clobbered a grand slam in the third inning on Wednesday night, powering the Tigers to a 9-2 victory over the Twins in Minneapolis.

Advice: Kelly broke up a scoreless tie when he crushed a 387-foot (103.5 mph EV) grand slam off of David Festa in the third inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but was all the offense that Keider Montero and company would require in this one. On the season, the 29-year-old backstop is now hitting .245/.321/.406 with six homers and 25 RBI. He’s looking increasingly likely to be dealt in advance of the trade deadline at the end of the month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm
    • Willson Contreras swats two-run homer in defeat
Willson Contreras hit a two-run homer on Wednesday in the Cardinals’ extra-inning loss at the hands of the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras walloped a game-tying shot off Pirates reliever Colin Holderman, who has been outstanding this season in a setup role for Pittsburgh, in the eighth inning to help send this one to extra innings. It was his lone hit in three at-bats, but he also drew a pair of walks in this one. It was the first big fly for the 32-year-old veteran backstop since returning from the injured list back on June 24. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm
    • Martín Maldonado hits first homer since April 26
Martín Maldonado went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday, powering the White Sox to a lopsided 8-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Maldonado connected on a 95.6 mph heater from Guardians reliever Tim Herrin in the eighth inning, sneaking it just inside the left-field foul pole for his first deep fly since April 26. He also chipped in a run-scoring single off Cleveland starter Gavin Williams back in the fourth inning as part of Chicago’s four-run outburst in the frame. The 37-year-old backstop has been a complete non-factor at the dish for several years at this juncture, but his defensive abilities are enough to keep him hanging around at least a bit longer. • Receiving Wednesday off
O'Hoppe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: O'Hoppe is in the midst of a modest six-game hit streak and has gone 8-for-19 with two homers and three walks during that span, but he'll sit Wednesday after making five straight starts. Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Davis Daniel. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm
    • Mitch Garver (wrist) held out again Wednesday
Mitch Garver (wrist) was held out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for the second consecutive night on Wednesday.

Advice: Garver was pulled from Sunday’s game with a right wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch and then sat out Tuesday’s contest as well. There’s no indication that he’s dealing with any structural damage or that he’ll require a trip to the injured list, so it sounds like the M’s will continue to take things day-to-day.
