    • Yields three runs in loss
Hicks (4-5) allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings, taking the loss versus Atlanta on Wednesday.

Advice: Hicks is winless in his last eight outings, going 0-4 with a 5.02 ERA in that span. He's walked multiple batters in six of those starts, though Wednesday was the fourth time in that span that he's avoided giving up a home run. Hicks is at a 3.47 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 82:35 K:BB through 90.2 innings over 18 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home against one of his former teams, the Blue Jays. • Blake Snell dominates in final rehab start
Blake Snell delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, piling up nine strikeouts over five scoreless frames.

Advice: The reigning National League Cy Young award winner didn’t allow a hit in the contest, allowing just one base on balls. Snell got up to 67 pitches (46 strikes) in this one, cruising through his five innings. As long as he checks out fine physically, expect him to rejoin the Giants’ rotation next week. • Jared Shuster set to start for White Sox Thursday
Jared Shuster will start for the White Sox in Thursday’s series finale against the Guardians.

Advice: Shuster has pitched exclusively out of the White Sox’ bullpen this season, posting a 3.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and a 21/16 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings in 17 appearances. The 25-year-old hurler threw 64 pitches a couple of weeks ago against the Tigers, but otherwise hasn’t been stretched out, so he shouldn’t be expected to work more than a couple of innings on Thursday. • Jakob Junis steps in for first save against Rockies
Jakob Junis struck out one batter over two scoreless innings to earn the save against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Trevor Megill got the night off after pitching in back-to-back games. Junis stepped in and shut the Rockies down over the final two frames with a three-run lead to earn his first save of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm

    • Colin Rea blanks Rockies over seven innings in win
Colin Rea tossed seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Rea made his most impressive start of the season on Wednesday, holding the Rockies scoreless in Colorado across seven frames. He scattered six hits and struck out four batters with no walks, tossing 67-of-97 pitches for strikes. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 3.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 66/28 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Milwaukee on Tuesday. • Michael Wacha strikes out eight Rays in win
Michael Wacha allowed just one run across six frames on Wednesday in the Royals’ 4-2 win over the Rays. He struck out eight, walked three, and gave up just three hits en route to a victory.

Advice: The eight punchouts matched a season-high for Wacha. He’s gone eight straight starts allowing two or fewer earned runs with a stint on the injured list in-between. He did his usual dance of cutters and changeups en route to this fantastic start. While not flashy, Wacha remains incredibly steady. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm
    • Dakota Hudson surrenders three runs in loss
Dakota Hudson allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Hudson surrendered a solo homer to Christian Yelich in the first inning. A walk, wild pitch, and a base hit brought a second run in to score for the Brewers in the second inning. Hudson later loaded the bases in the fifth and walked in a run before he was replaced on the mound with two outs in the frame. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.84 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and a 48/46 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Reds in Cincinnati on Monday. • Ryan Pepiot all over the place against Royals
Ryan Pepiot labored through four innings on Wednesday against the Royals. He allowed four hits and three walks without striking out a batter in a no-decision.

Advice: Pepiot could not place his fastball in this one. Too many were in the heart of the zone and so many more were way off the plate. Of the 43 pitches he threw, the Royals swung-and-missed at just one and took only four called strikes. That’s untenable for a pitch he threw 49% of the time. Without it working, he kept falling behind and had to grind through difficult innings. Things will not get easier in his next scheduled start against the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Zack Wheeler whiffs seven in no-decision vs. Cubs
Zack Wheeler recorded seven strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: Wheeler gave up only five hits with a pair of run-scoring doubles from Cubs rookie Pete Crow-Armstrong accounting for all of the damage against him across six frames. He induced 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. The 34-year-old fantasy ace has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 15 of his 18 starts so far this season. He’ll bring a stellar 2.74 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 119/33 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a challenging home matchup against the Dodgers in his penultimate outing prior to the Midsummer Classic.
