      Clase struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Clase retired the side on 15 pitches for his 23rd save of the season. He's pitched four perfect innings over his last four appearances after giving up runs in back-to-back outings June 9 and 11. The 26-year-old has been nearly untouchable for the Guardians with a 0.74 ERA, 0.61 WHIP and 37:3 K:BB over 36.1 innings.       Emmanuel Clase tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

    • Stuck with loss in quality start
      Crawford (3-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Reds, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Some defensive misadventures by Boston softened the blow to the right-hander's ERA and allowed him to escape with his third straight quality start and eighth of the season, but it's hard to ignore the issues Crawford has had of late keeping the ball in the park. He's been tagged for multiple homers in three straight outings and served up at least one in seven straight, stumbling to a 5.36 ERA over the latter stretch despite a 1.19 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings.       Pepiot came away with a no-decision in Friday's 10-3 win over the Pirates, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Despite the impressive offensive support, Pepiot wasn't efficient enough to qualify for his fifth win of the year and got the hook after 74 pitches (41 strikes). The right-hander tied his season high with the four free passes, while the three strikeouts tied his season low. Through four starts in June, he's stumbled to a 6.30 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB through 20 innings, and Friday's outing was his first this month in which he didn't serve up a homer.     • Kutter Crawford gives up three homers in loss
      Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings. Odds are that Crawford will bounce back from this, but he’s never been more than a fringy mixed-league option in a bad situation for pitchers. Rotoworld Friday, 10:40 pm

      Foley struck out one over 1.1 innings to earn the save in a 2-1 win over the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Foley was summoned to protect a 2-1 lead with two outs in the eighth inning and induced a groundout from Andrew Vaughn. He hit Paul DeJong with a pitch in the ninth but ended the game with a double play to earn his 13th save of the season. Foley has not allowed an earned run in seven June appearances and is now 13-for-15 in save chances with a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB over 27 innings in 2024.     • Ryan Pepiot unravels in fourth inning
      Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 on Friday against the Pirates. He walked four and struck out three.

      Advice: Pepiot started strong with three punch outs in his first three innings and held a big lead. He looked to be in complete control until a lead-off walk to Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t make it through the inning. His line could’ve been worse as he left the game with the bases loaded and one out, but Colin Poche got out of the jam with a double-play ball. It seemed he didn’t have a feel for his slider in this one as he threw just three. That pitch has been a difference-maker for him this season and it would be a concern if he took it out of his repertoire going forward. Rotoworld Friday, 6:29 pm

    • Jason Foley closes out White Sox on Friday night
      Jason Foley recorded the final four outs against the White Sox on Friday night, protecting a one-run advantage to earn his 13th save of the season.

      Advice: Foley came on with the tying run on base with two outs in the eighth inning and got Andrew Vaughn to ground out to second base. He then returned for the ninth where he plunked Paul DeJong with one out in the inning to bring the go-ahead run to the plate again. Andrew Benintendi then lined out to center field and DeJong forgot how many outs there were, easily getting doubled off of first base to end the ballgame. On the season, Foley now sports a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 22/9 K/BB ratio (26 1/3 innings) to go along with 13 saves in 15 opportunities. Rotoworld Friday, 5:56 pm
