    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. slugs three-run homer in victory
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gurriel Jr. put the Diamondbacks on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first inning to bring home the first run. He later slugged a two-run homer in the sixth to extend the lead. Gurriel Jr. then doubled in the eighth and scored on a double by Eugenio Suárez. The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .268/.301/.430 with 12 homers and 51 RBI across 339 plate appearances. • Brent Rooker collects three hits, homers vs. Angels
Brent Rooker went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in the Athletics’ 5-0 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Rooker knocked a base hit in the third inning, then led off the sixth with a solo blast off Davis Daniel. He added another single in the seventh for his third hit of the game. The 29-year-old slugger is hitting .269/.343/.530 with 17 homers, 49 RBI, and three steals across 300 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:04 pm

    • Grabs 21st save
Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out one over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Advice: Iglesias' last two outings were in non-save situations. He's on a five-inning scoreless streak and has given up just two runs across 10.1 innings since the start of June. For the season, the closer has a 2.27 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings while converting 21 of 23 save opportunities. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:56 pm
    • Raisel Iglesias earns 21st save of the season
Raisel Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out a batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Giants.

Advice: Iglesias continues to stymie the opposition despite not putting up the same gaudy strikeout totals as his other late-inning relief counterparts. His 21 saves are fourth most in the league while both his 2.27 ERA and 0.88 WHIP are lights out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:01 pm
    • Aroldis Chapman gets win in relief on Wednesday
Aroldis Chapman struck out three and allowed one run (zero earned) over two innings on Wednesday against the Cardinals to pick up his first win of the season.

Advice: Chapman hurled a scoreless ninth inning to send the contest to extra innings before allowing the ghost runner to cross the plate in the ensuing frame. Fortunately, the Pirates wound up rallying for a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 10th inning. The 36-year-old southpaw has done a nice job filling in for injured stopper David Bednar recently and figures to continue closing for Pittsburgh through the Midsummer Classic. • Brayan Bello whiffs seven in victory over Marlins
Brayan Bello recorded seven strikeouts and surrendered one run over 6 2/3 innings on Wednesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Bello served up a run-scoring single to Jesús Sánchez in the opening frame, but managed to settle in shortly afterwards, keeping Miami off the scoreboard until the late innings of this one before turning things over to Boston’s bullpen with two outs in the seventh inning. It was a much-needed rebound performance for the 25-year-old righty after getting knocked around for seven runs over 2 1/3 innings his last time out against the Blue Jays. He’ll bring a pedestrian 5.19 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 71/30 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (15 starts) into an extremely favorable home matchup on Tuesday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Lands on IL with adductor strain
The Twins placed Lewis on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right adductor strain.

Advice: The 25-year-old was removed from Tuesday's game against the Detroit due to left groin tightness, but it's now being reported as a right adductor injury. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Lewis is dealing with a Grade 2 strain and will be sidelined through the All-Star break before being reevaluated. Even in a best-case scenario, he'll likely miss some time beyond that while building back up to game readiness. Prospect Brooks Lee was called up in a corresponding move and should take over as Minnesota's primary third baseman while Lewis is out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:44 pm

    • Twins place Royce Lewis (groin) on 10-day IL
Twins placed INF Royce Lewis on the 10-day injured list with a right adductor strain.

Advice: Unfortunately, the 25-year-old superstar heads back to the injured list where he has spent far too much time over the past three seasons. Twins’ general manager Derek Falvey told reporters on Wednesday that Lewis will be sidelined at least through the All-Star break and will then be re-evaluated. Top prospect Brooks Lee had his contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move on Wednesday and he should see plenty of action while Lewis is shelved. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:40 pm

    • Hit hard in Tuesday's loss
Cease (7-7) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up six runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings as the Padres fell 7-0 to the Rangers. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander got no help from his offense, but Cease created his own problems by serving up six extra-base hits, including a pair of homers by Nathaniel Lowe. Cease has been tagged for four runs or more in three of his last four starts, walking multiple batters each time. He'll take a 4.24 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 130:32 K:BB through 102 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:58 am
