      Advice: Wong missed the maximum three games while on paternity leave and will rejoin the Red Sox ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Padres. Tyler Heineman was optioned to Triple-A Worcester to clear room on the active roster for Wong, who should settle back in as Boston's No. 1 catcher while Reese McGuire serves as his backup.       Jones isn't listed among the Pirates' probable starting pitchers for this weekend's series in Atlanta, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

      Advice: Jones will thus go the entire week without making a start, much to the chagrin of fantasy managers in weekly leagues who chose to keep him active. Gorman notes that general manager Ben Cherington has previously said that while the Pirates don't intend to shut Jones or fellow rookie phenom Paul Skenes down at any point this season, both pitchers will have their respective workloads managed to some degree as the campaign unfolds. Jones isn't dealing with any sort of injury, so the Pirates appear to have simply chosen this week as an opportunity to build in more recovery for the right-hander, who has logged 86 innings through his first 15 big-league starts.       Marcus Semien finished 0-for-5 on Wednesday and is in a 4-for-41 slump in his last 10 games.

      Advice: Semien started off well enough in April, but he’s been treading water for about two months now, and particularly unfortunate for fantasy leaguers is that he’s attempted just four steals this season, converting three of them.       Yandy Díaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Rays’ loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Díaz kicked off the scoring with a run-scoring single off Mariners starter George Kirby in the third inning, marking his eighth consecutive contest with an RBI since June 19.       Marsh went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run and four RBI in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Tigers.

      Advice: Marsh snapped a career-long home run drought in a big way on Wednesday. It was his first home run since April 26, snapping a streak of 36 games without a blast.     • Brandon Marsh homers, plates four to lead Phillies
      Brandon Marsh went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBI on Wednesday afternoon, leading the Phillies to a 6-2 victory over the Tigers in Detroit.

      Advice: Marsh tagged Tigers’ rookie right-hander Keider Montero for a 359-foot (100.6 mph EV) two-run shot in the fourth inning that gave the Phillies a 3-1 lead they would never relinquish. He added on a two-run single in the fifth inning that made it 5-1 as well but was then gunned down attempting to steal second base.
