      Advice: Buxton knocked a base hit to lead off the third inning and scored on a two-run homer by Brooks Lee. He later extended the Twins’ lead with a two-run shot off Rafael Montero in the seventh inning. It was the ninth home run for the 30-year-old outfielder.       Gerrit Cole allowed four runs with eight strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Cole worked through two scoreless innings, including a base-loaded jam in the second that he escaped with a strikeout. A double, walk, and three base hits would bring three runs in to score for Boston in the third. Cole struck out the side in the fourth inning before Rafael Devers took him deep for a solo shot in the fifth. That would be it for Cole at 90 pitches. He struck out a season-high eight batters.       Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Tatis (quadriceps) isn't likely to be able to play in the All-Star Game, Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press reports.

      Advice: Tatis was voted into the Midsummer Classic as a starter in the outfield alongside teammate Jurickson Profar, but it appears the former will need to sit out the contest. This isn't a surprising development, as Tatis had previously indicated that he could remain on the injured list until after the All-Star break. Tatis' election to the All-Star Game came as a result of a strong first half of the campaign during which he's slashed .279/.354/.468 with 14 homers, 36 RBI, 50 runs and eight stolen bases over 80 contests.
