    • Cruz blasts 10th home run in win Saturday
Oneil Cruz went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk and a solo home run against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Cruz’ home run was his 10th of the year. The solo shot came against Rays starter Zach Eflin in the first inning with two outs. It was Cruz’ first home run since June 8th. While he hits the ball hard when he connects, Cruz’ 32 percent strikeout percentage is still quite high. Maybe he’ll get his power stroke going in the second half of the year to help prop up all the strikeouts.

    • Oneil Cruz homers, scores twice in win over Rays
Oneil Cruz homered and scored two runs in a 4-2 win for the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Cruz obliterated a Zack Eflin pitch for a 445-foot dinger to tie the game at 1-1 in the first. The 25-year-old also drew a walk and came around to score a few batters later. There are going to be ups and downs with Cruz, but the power is obviously legitimate, and helps mitigate some of the contact issues. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:16 pm

    • Clubs homer Friday
Castro went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and two total runs scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Castro logged his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five games, with the lone exception being Thursday when he started the game on the bench. Batting .290 (20-for-69) in June, Castro has been impressive for the Twins, and it hasn't been just an empty average. He has nine extra-base hits, eight RBI and 13 runs scored over 19 contests this month. For the season, he's posted a .272/.357/.444 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 43 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a career-high 19 doubles through 76 games. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:30 pm

    • Maikel Garcia gets a day off on Thursday
Maikel Garcia is not in the Royals’ lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: The 24-year-old is hitting just .145 in 16 games in June with 12 strikeouts. He does have four steals and 10 runs scored and is coming off a month of May where he hit .305, so this might be nothing but a brief cold stretch. The Royals will hope a day off helps him get back on track. In the meantime, Garrett Hampson will start at second base and hit eighth with Nick Loftin moving over to third base. • Long starting streak comes to end
Castro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

Advice: For the first time since April 15, Castro will head to the bench, ending a streak of 59 consecutive starts. Though he opened the season in a utility role, Castro has solidified an everyday role thanks to his positional versatility and solid production at the plate. Austin Martin will enter the lineup at second base in place of Castro, who has been dialed in of late with a .368/.429/.605 slash line to go with one home run, six doubles, one stolen base, nine runs and four RBI over his last nine starts. • Back on bench
Caballero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Taylor Walls (illness) will return to the lineup at shortstop after missing the Rays' previous three games, leaving no room in the infield for Caballero. Though he's been an everyday player for most of the season and has racked up 22 stolen bases, Caballero looks like he could be limited to a part-time role now that Tampa Bay is back to full strength in the infield. • Willi Castro plates three in victory over Rays
Willi Castro doubled twice and finished with three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Twins to a 7-6 victory over the Rays.

Advice: Castro put Minnesota ahead briefly in a topsy-turvy marathon at Target Field with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning off Rays starter Aaron Civale. He also recorded another double and walked in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot. The 27-year-old has been locked-in at the dish over the last few days, hitting .379 (11-for-29) with one homer and one steal over his last seven games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:20 am

    • Back in lineup Tuesday
Caballero (calf) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Tuesday's game in Minnesota.

Advice: Caballero was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's 8-6 win over Atlanta due to left calf tightness, but he's feeling ready to play after Monday's team off day. It's his first start at shortstop since last Thursday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:50 pm
    • José Caballero returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Twins
José Caballero (calf) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Twins.

Advice: Caballero is back at shortstop and sixth on Tuesday evening following a two-game absence over the weekend due to calf tightness. The 27-year-old shortstop has also been battling an illness over the last few days, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s ready to go after only a couple days off to rest and recover.
