• Suffers apparent hamstring injury
Steele exited Thursday's game against the Rangers with an apparent injury to his left hamstring, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Steele moved quickly off the mound to field a bunt and suffered the injury in the process. He pitched very well prior to his exit, allowing only three hits and one earned run to go along with a walk and six strikeouts across 4.2 innings. The extent of the issue is not currently clear. • Mets put Kodai Senga (shoulder) on 15-day IL
Mets placed RHP Kodai Senga on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: Senga resumed throwing earlier this week and is expected to be ready to rejoin New York’s starting rotation mix at some point in mid-to-late May, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Spencer Torkelson picks up two hits in win
Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-4 in a victory Thursday over the White Sox.

Advice: Torkelson was the only player for either team that picked up multiple hits. The former first-overall pick got off to a slow start in 2023, but was one of the better options at first base over the second-half of the campaign. It’s never been a question of talent with Torkelson, and based on what he’s shown as of late, he’s starting to apply that talent and then some. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Dispatched to Triple-A
The Pirates optioned Priester to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Priester missed out on a spot in the Pirates' season-opening rotation, with Pittsburgh settling on veterans Martin Perez, Marco Gonzales and Bailey Falter and rookie Jared Jones to fill out its starting ranks behind Opening Day starter Mitch Keller. The 23-year-old right-hander finished the spring with a 5.87 ERA and 13:3 K:BB over 15.1 innings. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
  • Ibanez drives in winning run against White Sox
Andy Ibanez went 1-for-2 with an RBI during Thursday’s victory over the White Sox.

Advice: The RBI was a sac fly that scored Javier Baez in the third inning. It was the only run either team scored in a game that featured fantastic pitching from Tarik Skubal and Garrett Crochet and less-than-spectacular offense from either club. Ibanez hit at the top of the lineup Thursday, and he’ll likely get a chance to do it against left-handed pitching for the foreseeable future. Even still, the fantasy upside is rather limited. • Marlins recall Max Meyer from Triple-A
Marlins recalled RHP Max Meyer from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Meyer has officially made Miami’s season-opening rotation after injuries to Braxton Garrett (shoulder), Eury Pérez (elbow) and Edward Cabrera (shoulder) opened the door. The 25-year-old righty offers some steaming appeal for fantasy managers, especially in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Marlins recall INF Jonah Bride from Triple-A
Marlins recalled INF Jonah Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Bride winds up getting a spot on Miami’s season-opening roster with Xavier Edwards on the injured list and versatile reserve Jon Berti being shipped to the Yankees. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Jason Foley gets final two outs for save
Jason Foley struck out the final two hitters without allowing a hit to pick up a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Interesting. Alex Lange was reportedly available for this outing, but it was Foley who got the final two outs to pick up the save. Lange was widely assumed to receive the bulk of the save chances during the 2024 season, and while that still may be true, there’s at least some intrigue in seeing Foley get the final two outs. Fantasy managers who roster Lange will want to pay close attention to this situation. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Marlins place Eury Pérez (elbow) on 15-day IL
Marlins placed RHP Eury Pérez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with right elbow inflammation.

Advice: Pérez was able to resume throwing last weekend without any issues after additional testing on his right elbow didn’t reveal any structural damage. The dynamic 20-year-old righty is still pretty far off from returning to Miami’s starting rotation, but he’s managed to avoid a worst-case scenario outcome in this situation. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
