    • Justyn-Henry Malloy homers, Tigers edge Angels
Justyn-Henry Malloy went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park homer on Sunday, leading the Tigers to a 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Malloy has compiled cringe-inducing numbers this season since getting the call to the majors back in early June, but he made his presence felt in this one with a two-run, inside-the-park homer off Angels southpaw Tyler Anderson in the fourth inning. It was just his third big fly in 23 games so far in the big leagues as he’s also struck out 28 times in 73 plate appearances during that span. The 24-year-old was an on-base machine in the upper minors, but he’s still clearly a work in progress at the highest level. The big question will be how long the Tigers are going to be willing to let him continue to try to figure things out. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm

    • Chris Taylor homers, drives in two runs in loss
Chris Taylor went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

Advice: Taylor was one of the few bright spots for Los Angeles during Sunday’s one-sided smackdown at the hands of San Francisco, delivering one of this better performances of the season just a few hours after Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters he’ll be given a bit of a runway to make it work at third base moving forward. The struggling 33-year-old veteran went deep off Giants starter Spencer Bivens in the fifth inning before adding a run-scoring double a couple frames later. He’s still a long way off from consideration as a fantasy contributor, even in deeper mixed leagues, but a strong few weeks could be enough to keep him on the roster in Los Angeles heading towards the postseason. • Patrick Bailey doubles twice, plates three in win
Patrick Bailey went 2-for-5 with three RBI on Sunday in the Giants’ lopsided victory over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bailey’s impressive offensive breakout continued in this one with run-scoring doubles in the fourth and eighth inning, respectively, as part of a 10-run, 16-hit offensive explosion for San Francisco in this one. The 25-year-old backstop holds an impressive .284/.353/.433 triple-slash line with six homers and two steals in 222 plate appearances through 59 games so far. Rotoworld Today, 3:36 pm

    • Set to be activated Monday
Mitchell (finger) will join the Brewers in Denver on Monday and will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series opener against the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.comreports.

Advice: The 25-year-old has missed the first three months of the season due to a fractured finger, but he's ready to join the Brewers after a 14-game rehab assignment in the minor leagues. Milwaukee will now have a major logjam in the outfield, with Mitchell joining a group of Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio. Frelick saw time at third base during spring training, but Joey Ortiz (neck) has played his way into the starting job during the first half. Rotowire.com Today, 2:24 pm

    • Suffers wrist contusion
Garver left Sunday's game against the Twins in the third inning due to a right wrist contusion, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: Garver was struck in the right wrist by a 92.7 mph sinker from Joe Ryan in the bottom of the second inning. He then exited the contest in the following frame. With Seattle having an off day Monday, the 33-year-old will have extra time to nurse the injury before Tuesday's series opener with the Orioles. Rotowire.com Today, 2:16 pm

    • Mitch Garver suffers right wrist contusion
The Mariners report that Mitch Garver left Sunday’s game with a right wrist contusion.

Advice: Consider him to be day-to-day. He’ll be able to rest up tomorrow before the Mariners figure out whether he can DH on Tuesday. Rotoworld Today, 2:11 pm

    • Departs after HBP
Garver was removed from Sunday's game against the Twins after being hit by a pitch on the wrist, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: Garver remained in the game to run the bases but was lifted in the following frame. The specifics of the injury are unclear, but the catcher could be headed for X-rays. The Mariners were forced to give up the designated hitter as Cal Raleigh took over behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 2:05 pm

    • Mitch Garver exits after getting HBP on wrist
Mitch Garver left Sunday’s game after two innings with an apparent right wrist injury.

Advice: Garver stayed in to run after getting hit in the wrist by a pitch, but he couldn’t continue in the third. Unfortunately, Garver was catching and Cal Raleigh was DHing today, so the Mariners, who shed their third catcher (Seby Zavala) a couple of weeks ago, lost their DH. Rotoworld Today, 1:49 pm

    • Sitting versus lefty
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old's omission from the lineup is surprising since southpaw Andrew Heaney is taking the mound for Texas. Mountcastle has an .853 OPS versus lefties this season and was also held out of the lineup for Saturday's contest, so it's possible he's dealing with an injury or illness, though nothing has been reported at this point. The lefty-hitting Ryan O'Hearn will instead start at first base Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:16 pm
