      Woo (elbow) struck out six and allowed three hits and no walks over five shutout innings in his third rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Tacoma.

      Advice: Woo was about as sharp as the Mariners could have hoped in what was likely the final start of his rehab assignment, as he built up to 66 pitches (44 strikes) while making quick work of the Triple-A Sacramento lineup. Provided Woo experiences no complications with his right elbow during a bullpen session within the next couple of days, he should be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list to make his 2024 Mariners debut later this week. Emerson Hancock has been filling in as the Mariners' No. 5 starter while Woo has been out, but Seattle could have room in the rotation for both hurlers if George Kirby (knee) is forced to the 15-day IL. It was a needed outing, as he entered Saturday having given up runs in each of his last three appearances.       Pfaadt (1-2) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Pfaadt struggled with San Diego's lineup throughout the contest, allowing hits to three of the first four batters he faced and surrendering three runs over the first four innings - though one of those wouldn't be charged to him on account of a fielding error by Blaze Alexander. The right-hander was later relieved by Brandon Hughes in the seventh after surrendering back-to-back singles to open the frame, which led to an eight-run inning for the Padres. Despite his struggles on the night, Pfaadt still managed to log his second-consecutive quality start and has now posted a 15:0 K:BB over his last two outings.       Advice: Hitting out of the eighth spot in the Diamondbacks’ lineup, the 23-year-old outfielder singled with two outs in the fifth inning but was left stranded at first base. He struck out in each of his other two plate appearances in the ballgame.       Brandon Pfaadt struggled in a losing effort against the Padres on Saturday night, giving up five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over his six-plus innings of work.

      Advice: Pfaadt struck out four batters on the evening and didn’t issue a base on balls. The Padres scratched out a run against him in the opening inning on an RBI single by Manny Machado, then tacked on two more runs in the fourth. Pfaadt returned for the seventh inning where he allowed singles to Luis Arraez and Fernando Tatis Jr. before exiting — and both of them ultimately came around to score. The 25-year-old right-hander got 11 whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 25 percent.       David Bednar tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout to earn the win against the Rockies on Saturday.

      Advice: Bender entered in the top of the ninth with the game scoreless. He tossed a clean frame, striking out one batter to send it tied to the bottom of the ninth.       Hernandez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 extra-innings win against Atlanta.

      Advice: Offense was sparse for both teams until extra innings, and Hernandez's solo shot in the fourth held up as the decisive margin until Ronald Acuna tied the score with a solo shot of his own in the eighth. Hernandez's long ball was his seventh of the season -- he's tied with Shohei Ohtani for the team lead in that category and ranks third with 23 RBI.
