    • Tobias Myers gets quality start, no-decision
      Tobias Myers went six innings while allowing three runs and not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Cubs.

      Advice: Myers dealt with quite a bit of traffic Saturday, as he allowed seven hits and also issued a pair of walks. He was able to work around that traffic for the most part, thanks largely to six strikeouts and a couple of double plays. The 25-year-old gave up a two-run homer to Michael Busch in the first, but it was (mostly) smooth sailing from that point on. Myers does see his ERA jump up to 3.26, but that’s still a very solid number for the right-handed hurler. He faces Colorado next, and it’s worth pointing out that start will take place in Denver.     • Marte has three-hit game in win against Oakland
      Ketel Marte went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

      Advice: Marte started the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning. He has a hit in five of his last six games. In that time, he’s 10-for-22 (.454) with two home runs and seven RBI. On the season, Marte is hitting .290 with an .877 OPS and 49 RBI. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:36 pm
       
    • Luke Raley (shoulder) returns to lineup Saturday
      Luke Raley (shoulder) returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup on Saturday.

      Advice: Raley missed each of the team’s previous two games due to soreness in his shoulder. He’s right back out there on Saturday night though, batting fifth and starting in left field against Pablo Lopez and the Twins. The 29-year-old has hit .253/.299/.444 with nine homers, 22 RBI and five stolen bases in 212 plate appearances with the M’s this season. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:11 pm

      Raley (shoulder) will bat fifth and play left field Saturday against Minnesota.

      Advice: Raley was held out of the starting nine for back-to-back games with shoulder soreness, but he's feeling good enough to start Saturday.       Romano was shut down from throwing after experiencing discomfort in his right elbow Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

      Advice: It's the second time Romano has been shut down from throwing since he landed on the injured list June 1. Manager John Schneider said Saturday that Romano will get an evaluation on his right elbow July 2, which should give clarity on the next steps for the 31-year-old closer, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.     • Jordan Romano shut down due to elbow discomfort
      Jordan Romano has been shut down from throwing again after experiencing renewed right elbow discomfort.

      Advice: Not good. Romano is heading for further evaluation with specialist Dr. Keith Meister on Tuesday to determine his next steps. It’s the second time that Romano has been shut down during his rehabilitation process due to elbow discomfort. At this point, it’s possible the 31-year-old veteran closer could wind up requiring season-ending surgery. There should be an update on his status at some point in the coming days, but he’s nowhere close to returning at this point. It’ll continue to be Chad Green closing for Toronto until Yimi García (elbow) returns from the injured list. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:31 am

      Taillon (4-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Milwaukee.

      Advice: Taillon worked through three shutout frames before coughing up a grand slam to Jackson Chourio in the fourth inning. Taillon is now 1-2 over his last four starts despite registering a 2.16 ERA during that stretch. He's given up three or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 13 starts this season. Taillon owns a strong 3.03 ERA with a 58:17 K:BB through 74.1 frames this season. He's projected to face the Phillies at home next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:38 pm
       
    • Triston McKenzie pulled in third against Royals
      Triston McKenzie gave up five runs in 2 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Royals.

      Advice: McKenzie issued the first intentional walk of his career to Bobby Witt Jr. in the third, though it was one of those in which the pitcher got to a 3-0 count and then put him on. The Royals went on to score three times afterwards, though things were probably trending in that direction anyway. McKenzie’s velocity has climbed some since the start of the year, but his results have been dreadful lately; he’s pitched just 7 2/3 innings and given up 12 earned runs and 11 walks in his last three starts.       McKenzie (3-5) took the loss Friday in Kansas City, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.

      Advice: The Cleveland right-hander closed out a tough month with this performance, failing to pitch past the third inning for the third consecutive start. Over five June starts, McKenzie posted a 9.33 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 19:15 K:BB across 18.1 innings. The 26-year-old is currently scheduled to face the White Sox at home in his next outing.
