    • Moving to bullpen
Manager Pat Murphy said Thursday that Wilson will pitch out of the bullpen going forward, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Following the acquisition of Aaron Civale from Tampa Bay, Wilson will end up as the odd man out of Milwaukee's rotation. The 26-year-old owns a 4.27 ERA and 1.28 WHIP through 78 innings on the season, though his numbers drop to a 3.72 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in his 11 appearances as a reliever. He'll likely be asked to handle a multi-inning role as he moves to the Brewers' bullpen, and he could return to the rotation if another one of Milwaukee's starters gets injured. • Re-signs with Twins
Castillo signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: Castillo elected to become a free agent after he was pushed off the Twins' 40-man roster in June, and he will now return to the organization after exploring his options in the open market. The 30-year-old right-hander will report to Triple-A St. Paul, where he's put up a 2.50 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 18 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:59 pm

    • Robert Suarez quiets Rangers to collect 22nd save
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Rangers to record his 22nd save of the season.

Advice: Suarez came on to face the bottom of the Rangers’ lineup in the final frame with a two-run lead in hand and immediately got into trouble by issuing a leadoff walk to rookie sensation Wyatt Langford. Fortunately, he was able to get Leody Taveras to ground into a fielder’s choice before striking out Travis Jankowski and coaxing a game-ending ground out from Jonah Heim. He’s converted a staggering 22 of 23 save opportunities this season and figures to be named to the senior circuit’s All-Star Game roster in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:12 pm
    • Michael King shuts down Rangers over 5 1/3 in win
Michael King struck out five and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Rangers.

Advice: King generated 13 swinging strikes, although just a pair of them came on his four-seam fastball, as he finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. A sixth-inning single from Wyatt Langford was responsible for the lone tally against him in a low-scoring pitcher’s duel at Globe Life Field. The 29-year-old former reliever will bring a strong 3.51 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 120/41 K/BB ratio across 105 innings (19 appearances, 18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Mariners in his final outing prior to the Midsummer Classic. • D-backs recall lefty Joe Jacques on Thursday
Diamondbacks recalled LHP Joe Jacques from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: Jacques rejoins Arizona’s bullpen for Thursday’s showdown against the Dodgers. The 29-year-old lefty has yet to make an appearance this season for the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm
    • Back in majors
The Diamondbacks recalled Jacques from Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Advice: Since being claimed off waivers from Boston in April, Jacuqes has recorded a 4.58 ERA and 1.51 WHIP through 17.2 innings with Reno. He'll now join the big-league roster to add some depth to Arizona's bullpen, and Cristian Mena will head back to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:09 pm
    • Drawing start Friday
Hoeing (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day injured list and start Friday versus the White Sox, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hoeing has been used as a starter plenty in the past but has been deployed exclusively in relief in 2024 aside from a one-inning "start" on his rehab assignment. The 27-year-old threw 49 pitches over 2.2 frames in his most recent rehab appearance, so the Marlins' bullpen will be needed Friday. It's not clear whether this is a one-off for Hoeing or he could make additional starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:04 pm

    • Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) set to return on Friday
Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) will start on Friday against the White Sox.

Advice: Hoeing will be officially activated from the injured list to take the ball for Friday’s series opener against the White Sox. The 27-year-old righty has been out since early May recovering from a left hamstring strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm

    • Greg Weissert picks up save against Marlins
Greg Weissert allowed an unearned run while picking up a save against the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: The run was the “zombie” runner that starts at second base to begin every inning after the ninth. That’s the first save of the season for Weissert, and being blunt, it’s very likely the last. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:49 pm
