    • Duran earns 13th save in win over Tigers
Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Duran now has 13 saves on the season, as he lowered his WHIP in the year to 0.98 thanks to a solid frame against the Tigers, in which he struck out one batter. Duran needed just 13 pitches to get through the inning and has converted four of his last five save opportunities. Rotoworld Today, 8:03 pm
    • Trea Turner homers twice in win over Cubs
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

Advice: Turner hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead and later returned to hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-1. The Phillies start shortstop now has five homers on the season and has hit safely in five of his last six games. Turner is slashing a solid .338/.386/.487 on the season but hasn’t offered much as far as steals are concerned, which could be chalked up to the hamstring injury he returned from a few weeks ago. • Cease allows six earned, two homers vs. Rangers
Dylan Cease allowed eight hits and six earned runs over 3 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Cease had an up-and-down first inning. While he recorded all three of his outs via the strikeout, he allowed two hits, with the second coming on a two-run homer by Nathaniel Lowe to give the Rangers an early lead. It would only get worse from there, as Cease would give up another two-run bomb to Lowe in the third inning and was pulled in the fourth inning shortly after allowing a sixth run off a Marcus Semien single. It’s been a rough stretch for Cease, who has allowed 17 earned runs over his last 19 innings while striking up 29 batters and walking nine. Cease will look to bounce back in his next outing, which is set for Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Today, 7:32 pm
    • Nimmo has two hits, two RBI off bench
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs after coming off the bench in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nimmo didn’t start the game after nursing a head injury when he fell in his hotel room on Sunday night and cut his head. However, he certainly seems to be healthy, knocking in a run on a single in the eighth to tie the game and then giving the Mets a two-run cushion in the 10th inning with an RBI double. Over the last six weeks, Nimmo is hitting .283/.377/.496 with six home runs, 27 runs scored, 21 RBI, and three steals in 33 games. He remains underrated in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm

    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) set for Wednesday bullpen
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

Advice: Kershaw was shut down from throwing back in late June after experiencing soreness in his surgically-repaired left shoulder, so it’s a positive sign that he’s been cleared to resume throwing again. The 36-year-old veteran southpaw is targeting a midseason return to Los Angeles’s starting rotation and appears on track to make it back at some point in August. Rotoworld Today, 5:16 pm
    • Making next rehab start Thursday
Ray (elbow) will make his next rehab start Thursday with Triple-A Sacramento, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The left-hander covered 3.2 frames in his previous outing for Sacramento on Friday, and he'll continue building up his workload with the Triple-A affiliate. Ray made four rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and is now scheduled for a third appearance at Triple-A as he makes his way back from Tommy John surgery. • Returns to throwing
Kershaw (shoulder) has started throwing again Tuesday after experiencing shoulder soreness last week, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: After being shut down for one week due to feeling soreness in his surgically repaired shoulder, Kershaw said he was relieved an MRI didn't reveal any new damage. The southpaw added that he received some shots to help alleviate discomfort and that he is hopeful the pause in his rehab will not push his timeline back too much. Rotowire.com Today, 3:33 pm
    • Robbie Ray (elbow) to make rehab start Thursday
Robbie Ray (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Thursday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Ray is progressing towards a midseason return to San Francisco’s starting rotation mix as he completes his rehabilitation from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 32-year-old southpaw is still capable of missing bats at a high level and is worthy of a speculative stash for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm

    • Josh Jung still dealing with right wrist soreness
Josh Jung is day-to-day with soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist.

Advice: Jung told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t swung a bat since his last minor league rehab contest back in mid-June and they’re taking things day-by-day at the moment. The 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t appear close to rejoining the Rangers’ lineup at this point and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return to game action. Rotoworld Today, 1:43 pm
