    • Littell lit up in loss to the Rangers
      Zack Littell allowed seven runs on nine hits in four innings in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

      Advice: Littell has been inconsistent in his first season as a starter and has a 4.44 ERA on the year. His name has been mentioned in trade rumors with the Rays looking like sellers, but it’s also possible that the Rays will decide to move Littell back into a long relief role with Jeffrey Springs nearing a return to the MLB rotation.     • Michael Kopech implodes in loss
      Michael Kopech allowed four runs on two hits in 2/3 of an inning in a loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

      Advice: Kopech was tasked with protecting a one-run lead and was not able to do it. He walked the first batter of the inning, but the Marlins sac bunted with the next hitter and Jazz Chisolm Jr. flew out, so it seemed like Kopech would get out of the inning before he allowed a double to Josh Bell, intentionally walked Jesus Sanchez, and gave up a game-ending home run to Jake Burger. That’s now three straight rough outings for Kopech after he had seemingly gotten things back on track. He now has a 5.45 ERA on the season and should not be on fantasy rosters right now.     • Cannon solid in no-decision
      Jonathan Cannon allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.

      Advice: Cannon walked four and struck out three on the day while allowing just one extra-base hit. The 23-year-old didn’t miss many bats on the day with just six whiffs on 33 swings for an 18 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. He’ll have to hope that’s enough to keep him in the rotation when Mike Clevinger comes back. As of now, Cannon lines up for a strong start against the Pirates next week. He has a 4.20 ERA on the year and has only had one bad performance; it just happened to be one that torpedoed his ratios. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:01 pm
       
    • Cabrera solid in first start off IL
      Edward Cabrera allowed two runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox on Sunday.

      Advice: This was Cabrera’s first start in over two months, so the abbreviated outing was part of the plan. The right-hander started the game with 3 2/3 shutout innings, striking out four. He then allowed a single and a two-run home run to Danny Mendick, before Marlins’ manager Skip Schumaker decided to remove Cabrera from the game. However, Cabrera was able to induce 14 whiffs on 35 swings for a 40 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. He also had just a 38 percent zone rate on the day, which will always be part of the issue with the 26-year-old. He has great stuff, but the command is iffy, which makes him a risky streamer.     • Birdsong can’t escape 5th inning in no decision
      Hayden Birdsong allowed two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

      Advice: He struck out five and walked two on the day. Birdsong induced 13 whiffs on 44 swings for a 30 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. The four-seamer was unable to get many whiffs and allowed a fair amount of hard contact, which put a good deal of stress on his off-speed pitches on Sunday. Still, he looked good apart from a tough start to the fourth inning and then an infield single and two-out walk which ended his day in the fifth inning.     • Carlos Carrasco fine in no decision
      Carlos Carrasco allowed three runs on six hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Sunday.

      Advice: The veteran struck out four and walked one, posting a 30 percent CSW. He didn’t miss many bats with nine whiffs on 43 swings, and he’s certainly a low-upside fantasy play, even against a struggling Rays offense next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:43 pm
       
    • Tarik Skubal strikes out 13 Reds in win
      Tarik Skubal dazzled across seven innings with 13 strikeouts in the Tigers’ 5-1 win over the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Skubal seems to keep getting better. He forced a season-best 23 swings-and-misses en route to his season-best 13 punch outs and the Reds’ batters were clueless for most of this game. They had a mini rally in the seventh inning, but Skubal navigated through it and maintained the lead. It’s almost an impossible task for opposing hitters to be ready for 99 MPH heat, a quality sinker, an outrageously good changeup, a 92 MPH slider, and a devastating knuckle curve that comes out for special occasions.     • Graham Ashcraft inefficient in loss
      Graham Ashcraft was pulled after 4 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Tigers after allowing six hits and one earned run. He struck out two and walked three.

      Advice: This was a classic Ashcraft start with a heap of foul balls, long counts, and traffic on the bases. Fascinatingly, he’s almost completely taken his sinker out of his repertoire since reentering the Reds’ rotation two weeks ago and threw just two total on Sunday. He has never been able to take the stop forward many hoped he would because he can’t find a way to add more pitches to his repertoire. Rather, it’s just non-stop cutters and sinkers which produce laborious starts like his on Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:07 pm
       
    • Marlins transfer Ryan Weathers (finger) to 60-day IL
      Marlins transferred LHP Ryan Weathers from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
