    • Héctor Neris collects third SV of season Thursday
Héctor Neris fired a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Thursday against the Astros.

Advice: Neris did make things interesting, as he walked a pair of hitters to put the go-ahead run at the plate. Ultimately the 34-year-old was able to get the job done, and he now has three saves on the season after not opening the year in the closing role. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

    • Back in action Thursday
Raleigh (mouth) will start at catcher and bat third in Thursday's game versus the Rangers.

Advice: Raleigh missed Wednesday's 5-1 loss following a dental procedure, but he'll be back in action for Thursday's series finale. The switch-hitting catcher enters play Thursday having slugged home runs in four of his last five games. Rotowire.com Today, 9:22 am

    • Not in Thursday's lineup
Hayes is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Hayes looks to be getting some routine maintenance for a day game after a night game. With Hayes on the bench, the Pirates will shift Jared Triolo over to third base Thursday and give Alika Williams a start at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 7:38 am

    • Contributes stolen base Wednesday
Polanco went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Polanco's struggles at the plate continued for the most part, with his average now sitting at a paltry .175 through 99 plate appearances. However, the veteran also sports a surprisingly solid .333 on-base percentage that's largely the result of his 18.9 percent walk rate. The free pass he drew Wednesday also led to his first stolen base of the campaign, and the combination of Polanco's career-low .234 BABIP and above-average 24.0 percent line-drive rate seems to imply his luck when putting the ball in play should start to turn soon. • Performance turning around
Diaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Diaz got off to a slow start to the season, but he now has at least one hit in seven of his last eight starts. In that span, he also has four multi-hit performances and a .314 batting average. Counting stats haven't followed Diaz's turnaround at the plate, but as the locked-in leadoff hitter, that should also change as the season progresses. Rotowire.com Today, 7:07 am
    • Notches seventh save
Kimbrel picked up the save against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Kimbrel surrendered a leadoff single to Ehire Adrianza to open the bottom of the ninth, who then advanced to third on a throwing error by Jorge Mateo. This would lead to a run coming home for Los Angeles in the frame on a groundout to make it a 6-5 game, though Kimbrel was able to retire two of the next three batters to nail down his seventh save of the season. The veteran reliever has now converted each of his last seven save attempts after blowing the save to open the campaign, but he's also allowed a hit and a walk in each of his last two appearances. • Swats seventh homer
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run against Seattle in Wednesday's 5-1 victory.

Advice: Garcia put Texas on the board with a 416-foot solo shot in the fourth inning. It was his third long ball over his past six contests, and he is tied for fourth in the majors with seven homers on the season. Garcia has added 23 RBI, 18 runs, four steals and a .312/.359/.613 slash line. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:32 pm

    • Adolis García slugs seventh homer versus Mariners
Adolis García went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Mariners.

Advice: García put the Rangers on the board with solo homer off Bryce Miller in the fourth inning, his seventh of the season. He later reached on a groundout and scored on a triple by Evan Carter. The 31-year-old slugger is enjoying an outstanding start to the season, hitting .312/.359/.613 with seven homers, 23 RBI, and four steals across 103 plate appearances. • Héctor Neris collects save for Cubs on Wednesday
Héctor Neris allowed one run in the ninth inning on Wednesday against the Astros, but still managed to hang on for his second save of the season.

Advice: It’s notable that Neris got the call once again to guard a two-run lead in the final frame after Adbert Alzolay pitched in the sixth inning and Mark Leiter Jr. worked a scoreless eighth inning. He gave up a leadoff homer to former teammate Jose Altuve, but managed to set down Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker to preserve the victory. The 34-year-old veteran righty has plenty of closing experience, but he hasn’t been a full-time stopper since the 2019 campaign when he notched 28 saves for the Phillies. He looks like the add for fantasy managers at the moment in Chicago, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Leiter vulture the occasional save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:51 pm
