    • Handed loss Friday
Taillon (4-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Milwaukee.

Advice: Taillon worked through three shutout frames before coughing up a grand slam to Jackson Chourio in the fourth inning. Taillon is now 1-2 over his last four starts despite registering a 2.16 ERA during that stretch. He's given up three or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 13 starts this season. Taillon owns a strong 3.03 ERA with a 58:17 K:BB through 74.1 frames this season. He's projected to face the Phillies at home next week. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Alec Marsh strong for six against Guardians
Alec Marsh pitched six innings of one-run ball Friday in a victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Marsh came into the night with a 6.61 ERA in his previous six starts, so he needed this. Since it’s just the fifth time this year that he’s completed six innings, he has only four quality starts. Nevertheless, he’s 6-5 with a 4.19 ERA. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

    • Triston McKenzie pulled in third against Royals
Triston McKenzie gave up five runs in 2 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: McKenzie issued the first intentional walk of his career to Bobby Witt Jr. in the third, though it was one of those in which the pitcher got to a 3-0 count and then put him on. The Royals went on to score three times afterwards, though things were probably trending in that direction anyway. McKenzie’s velocity has climbed some since the start of the year, but his results have been dreadful lately; he’s pitched just 7 2/3 innings and given up 12 earned runs and 11 walks in his last three starts. • Roughed up in loss
McKenzie (3-5) took the loss Friday in Kansas City, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.

Advice: The Cleveland right-hander closed out a tough month with this performance, failing to pitch past the third inning for the third consecutive start. Over five June starts, McKenzie posted a 9.33 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 19:15 K:BB across 18.1 innings. The 26-year-old is currently scheduled to face the White Sox at home in his next outing. • Fans eight in win
Rea (7-2) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Rea looked strong aside from a speed bump in the fourth inning. He gave up a solo shot to Seiya Suzuki before Dansby Swanson drove in another run. Rea set new season highs with eight strikeouts and 15 whiffs, including six via the sinker. He hasn't lost a start since May 19; in seven outings since then, he's 4-0 with a 3.03 ERA. Rea is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 62:28 K:BB through 87.1 innings. His next start is projected to be in Colorado. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

    • Throws six scoreless innings in win
Suarez (4-2) earned the win over the Rangers on Friday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out two over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Suarez was efficient, needing just 87 pitches to toss his first quality start of the season. The righty generated only six swinging strikes, but this was a huge bounceback after he had allowed eight earned runs over his previous two outings. On the season, Suarez owns a 2.45 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 45:22 K:BB over 59.1 innings and lines up to face the Athletics next week. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

    • Rehabbing in rookie ball
Pruitt (knee) began a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Friday.

Advice: Pruitt has been on the injured list since late April due to a right meniscus injury, and he's now been given the go-ahead to begin playing in games. The Rangers haven't provided any details regarding the planned duration of Pruitt's rehab stint, but he'll likely need to make a few appearances with a minor-league affiliate before coming off the injured list. There's also no guarantee the 34-year-old reports to the Rangers upon being activated, as he allowed six earned runs in just 4.1 MLB innings before getting hurt. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

    • Colin Rea strikes out season-best eight in win
Colin Rea allowed two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in a victory against the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: Rea’s eight strikeouts topped his previous season high by six. For the year, he’s sporting a 16.8% strikeout rate, down from 21.3% last year. However, a .253 BABIP has left him with a 3.61 ERA. His SIERA is about one run higher, while his xERA tops his current ERA by about a run and a half. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Jameson Taillon delivers quality start in loss
Jameson Taillon lost to the Brewers after surrendering four runs — three earned — in six innings Friday.

Advice: Taillon managed to record a fourth straight quality start tonight, though only barely. Unfortunately, he’s won just one of those four outings and has no other victories since May 4. Still, he can’t complain overly much about being 4-4 with a 3.03 ERA when teammate Justin Steele is 0-3 with a 3.08 ERA. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago
