    • Picks up fourth win
Smith (4-1) struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the win Sunday over the Giants.

Advice: Smith pitched the sixth inning, and the Guardians took the lead in their half of the frame to make him the pitcher of record. After a strong first two months of the season, Smith has taken a bit of a step back, allowing six runs over his last 14.1 innings since the start of June. He's now at a 2.50 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 53:9 K:BB while adding a save and 13 holds over 39.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Kutter Crawford goes seven scoreless to beat Yanks
Kutter Crawford delivered a brilliant performance in Sunday night’s victory over the Yankees, scattering four hits over seven scoreless innings of work.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 68 pitches (54 strikes) to get through his seven innings. Crawford has never pitched into the eighth inning in his big-league career though, and the Red Sox trusted their bullpen to get the final six outs. Crawford generated nine whiffs on the night while posting an elite CSW of 38 percent. He’ll attempt to finish the first half strong as he carries a stellar 3.24 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 106/28 K/BB ratio (105 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Royals. • Records three hits Sunday
Urshela went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Urshela notched his first three-hit effort since June 11 as he helped lead the Tigers to victory. The veteran infielder is batting .249 for the season, which is a step back after he hit .299 for the Angels during an injury-shortened 2023 campaign. Urshela still has time to pick his average up, however, and he should stick in an everyday role as long as he's healthy, so his fantasy stock could increase down the stretch. • Strong showing in loss
Gorman went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored in Saturday's 14-6 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: The second baseman banged out the Cardinals' only extra-base hits on the afternoon. Gorman has produced multiple hits in three of five games to begin the month of July, and he appears to be shaking off a brutal slump that saw him slash .083/.151/.155 over the prior 24 games with a bloated 39.8 percent strikeout rate. • Slugs 16th homer
Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Rutschman's three-run blast in the seventh inning didn't have much of an impact on the outcome since Oakland still led 17-4 at that point, but it may have been a momentum-shifter personally after he had collected just one hit over his previous 19 at-bats. The long ball also moved him into second place for homers among MLB catchers with 16 on the campaign. Only Oakland's Shea Langeliers -- who hit his 17th homer in the same contest Saturday -- has more home runs among big-league backstops. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:16 pm

    • Strikes out eight in win
Ryan (6-5) earned the win against the Astros on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Ryan surrendered a run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth while receiving plenty of early run support from his teammates. He generated 15 swinging strikes on 110 pitches and has completed at least five frames in each of his 18 starts this season. On the year, the 28-year-old owns an impressive 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 118:16 K:BB through 109.1 innings and lines up to face the Giants next week. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:58 pm

    • Adley Rutschman hits three-run homer in blowout loss
Adley Rutschman hit a three-run homer in a blowout loss Saturday to the Athletics.

Advice: The Orioles were able to put up an eight-spot, which is usually more than enough to win a game. Baltimore needed another dozen to win this one. Still, Rutschman makes fantasy managers happy with a three-run shot in the seventh inning to make it a 17-4 lead for Oakland. They all count. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:14 pm

    • Joe Ryan strikes out eight in win against Astros
Joe Ryan allowed three runs with eight strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Ryan pitched two clean frames before a pair of doubles brought a run in to score for Houston in the third. Jon Singleton then hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Ryan worked into the sixth before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out eight on the day. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 118/16 K/BB ratio across 109 1/3 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:52 pm

    • Another big performance
Pena went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Pena delivered a pair of RBI singles and a sacrifice fly to account for his production. That continued a strong run, as across his last 15 games Pena has maintained a .298 batting average with two homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. His .118 ISO across 86 games exactly matches his mark from 2023, though he's on pace to easily set new career highs in RBI and stolen bases while also hitting .285. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:36 am
