• Harper has two hits, homers in win over Reds
Bryce Harper went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run homer on Thursday in the Phillies’ win over the Reds.

Advice: The home run was a 384-foot shot off Nick Martinez that left the bat at 101.4 mph. Harper also had a 112 mph single on the day and is now slashing .256/.347/.488 on the year with five home runs and 16 RBI. Expect the batting average to keep rising as Harper remains one of the best hitters for fantasy baseball. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Ty France hits first homer of season against TEX
Ty France went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Rangers on Thursday.

Advice: France took Andrew Heaney deep in the first inning with a runner on to give Seattle a 2-0 lead, and also gave France his first homer of the season. The 29-year-old has made some hard contact in the early portion of the season, but his .266/.322/.354 is tough to justify in a fantasy lineup — especially as a first baseman. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

  • Vaughn has two hits in loss to Twins
Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: The White Sox had nine hits and Vaughn was the only one with an extra-base hit when he laced a 103.3 mph shot off Simeon Woods-Richardson in the fourth inning. The 26-year-old is slashing a disappointing .170/.255/.216 on the season and has yet to grow into the power hitter that his prospect pedigree suggested he could be. With poor lineup context around him, it’s hard to roster Vaughn in most formats right now, but just keep an eye on him in case he starts to heat up as the weather warms. • Hoskins has three hits, two RBI in win
Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Thursday.

Advice: Hoskins is hitting just .226/.320/.452 on the year but does have five home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games. He’s been making solid contact with a barrel rate of just under 13 percent and has just 20 strikeouts in his 23 games, so at some point, that level of quality contact will lead to a hot streak. Maybe this is the start of one? Rotoworld Today, 1:19 pm

  • Jared Walsh elects free agency
Rangers 1B Jared Walsh has elected free agency.

Advice: Walsh went unclaimed on waivers earlier this week and will test the free agent waters instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock. The 30-year-old former impact fantasy contributor made Texas’ season-opening roster following an injury to Nathaniel Lowe during spring training and batted .226 (12-for-53) with one homer and seven RBI in 17 games for the Rangers. • Homers in return
Harper went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Thursday's 5-0 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: After missing Philadelphia's last three games while on the paternity list, Harper returned with a bang Thursday, launching a two-run homer off Nick Martinez to extend the Phillies lead to 4-0 in the third inning. After a slow start to the year, Harper's starting to turn it around at the plate -- he's hit safely in his last seven games, going 10-for-24 with two home runs and nine RBI in that span. He's boosted his slash line to .256/.347/.488 with five homers and 16 RBI across 22 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:11 pm

  • Day off versus southpaw
Brown isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: With lefty Nestor Cortes set to start for New York, Brown will retreat to the dugout to begin Thursday's contest. Esteury Ruiz will cover left field instead and bat in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Today, 12:42 pm

  • Sitting against lefty
Noda isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Left-hander Nestor Cortes will start on the mound for New York, forcing the lefty-hitting Noda to start Thursday's contest in the dugout. While he sits, Abraham Toro will start at first base with Max Schuemann and Darell Hernaiz covering second and third. Rotowire.com Today, 12:39 pm

  • Will serve as 27th man
The Astros will add Cabbage to their roster for their upcoming series against the Rockies in Mexico City, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Astros are permitted to add an additional position player to their roster for their two-game series in Mexico City, so they'll bring up Cabbage to provide additional depth at first base and in the outfield. The 26-year-old has spent all season at Triple-A Sugar Land, where he's slashed .271/.440/.486 with three homers and nine RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 10:58 am
