    • Clayton Kershaw touches 90 mph in sim game
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) touched 90 mph on the gun during a two-inning simulated game in California on Friday.

Advice: The Dodgers have yet to schedule Kershaw’s first rehab start, but it might not be far off. First, he’ll throw another sim game next week. Kershaw is coming back from November surgery to repair his shoulder capsule and ligaments. Rotoworld Today, 2:29 pm
    • Bullpen on tap
Hall (knee) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles for a second opinion on his sprained left knee Friday and was recommended to receive a PRP injection, but the left-hander will instead follow the initial medical opinion and get back to throwing. Hall made two one-inning rehab appearances in the minors in late May before he tweaked his knee, and he'll likely require at least a few bullpen sessions before being cleared for game action again. • Receiving third opinion
The second opinion Gasser received on his left elbow Friday conflicted with the first evaluation, so he's scheduled to visit a third doctor, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: According to Hogg, Dr. Neal ElAttrache suggested surgery after examining Gasser's elbow Friday, which was in contrast to the initial evaluation from earlier this week. There's apparently no new structural damage with the flexor strain, but the differing treatment recommendation will result in the 25-year-old receiving a third medical opinion. Gasser is without a timeline for his return but could be facing an extended absence. Rotowire.com Today, 2:16 pm
    • Surgery recommended for Robert Gasser’s elbow
Robert Gasser will get a third opinion on his elbow after Dr. Neal ElAttrache suggester he undergo surgery.

Advice: Gasser definitely has some damage in his elbow, but it sounds like the first opinion suggested rest and rehab. The highly respected ElAttrache saw things differently. There’s still a scenario in which Gasser comes back and contributes this season, but those who picked him up in mixed leagues can move on. Rotoworld Today, 2:13 pm
    • Brandon Williamson experiences shoulder setback
Brandon Williamson has been shut down for at least a week after a setback with his shoulder on a rehab assignment.

Advice: Williamson would have been an option to step into the rotation spot vacated by Graham Ashcraft, but that won’t happen now. The left-hander had allowed one run over 13 2/3 innings in four rehab outings. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm
    • Roddery Muñoz to start Saturday for Marlins
Roddery Muñoz will be recalled to start Saturday against the Guardians.

Advice: Muñoz has made three starts for the Marlins this season, somehow giving up just nine runs despite allowing six homers and walking seven in 15 2/3 innings. He could serve as the Marlins’ fifth starter until Edward Cabrera returns, but the team could also send him down and go with Max Meyer or another alternative if he’s ineffective tomorrow. • Confirmed for Saturday start
Bradish will start Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles' original schedule would have placed Bradish on the mound Thursday against Toronto but he'll get two extra days of rest before taking on the Rays at Tropicana Field. Manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Bradish's start wasn't pushed back due to health concerns, so he should be a full go Saturday. Bradish faced the Rays in his last start, yielding five runs over 2.2 innings in a no-decision. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm
    • Max Scherzer (thumb) to make rehab start Sunday
Max Scherzer will make a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: It will be interesting to see how quickly the Rangers let Scherzer return from the minors. The 39-year-old has made a total of six minor league rehab starts during his 16-year career and never more than two during one IL stay. One would think a typical pitcher would get three or four in his situation (he missed the entire spring after back surgery and then made rehab start in April before injuring his thumb). Scherzer, though, is hardly typical. Rotoworld Today, 1:38 pm

    • Resuming rehab assignment Sunday
Scherzer (back/arm) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Scherzer had to be pulled off his initial rehab assignment in early May following a nerve problem with his throwing arm, but he's been trending in the right direction in recent weeks after receiving a cortisone injection. The 39-year-old was initially placed on the injured list due to his recovery from offseason back surgery. Scherzer threw 40 pitches in a live batting practice session earlier this week, so he should be ready for at least that many pitches Sunday. He will need multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Rangers' rotation, but a return before the end of June would seem to be in play. Rotowire.com Today, 1:36 pm
