    • Allows five earned runs in loss
      Keller (9-5) took the loss against the Cardinals on Tuesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits and no walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

      Advice: Keller was burned by the long ball, surrendering a two-run home run in the second inning and a grand slam in the fourth. After completing at least six frames in eight consecutive starts from May 6 to June 19, the righty has now failed to do so in his past two outings.     • Mitch Keller undone by home runs in loss
      Mitch Keller allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits in five innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Keller allowed eight hard-hit baseballs, including two home runs that accounted for five of the runs Keller allowed. He struck out five and walked nobody on the day, posting a 24 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. Even though Keller has been performing better of late, there’s not much in the underlying numbers that suggests he’s become a different pitcher. He relies heavily on his cutter for success, and while that pitch was good tonight, the rest of his offerings didn’t miss a ton of bats.     • Josh Jung still dealing with right wrist soreness
      Josh Jung is day-to-day with soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist.

      Advice: Jung told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t swung a bat since his last minor league rehab contest back in mid-June and they’re taking things day-by-day at the moment. The 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t appear close to rejoining the Rangers’ lineup at this point and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return to game action. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:43 pm
       
    • Still not swinging bat
      Jung (wrist) has not been cleared to swing a bat, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Jung has not swung a bat since his last rehab game on June 20 and admitted Tuesday that his surgically repaired right wrist remains sore. A specialist has confirmed that nothing is structurally wrong with the wrist, but the lingering discomfort is worrisome. There's no timetable for Jung's return.     • MacKenzie Gore denied win after strong showing
      MacKenzie Gore allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings and struck out eight Monday against the Mets.

      Advice: Gore was at 104 pitches, so it’s kind or understandable that he was pulled in the sixth. Still, he seemed to be very much in control at that point. He’d given up just a soft single before rebounding to retire the next two batters in the sixth. The Nationals pulled him with a 2-0 lead in favor of Derek Law, and the Mets, aided by a CJ Abrams error, went on to score three runs in the frame.     • Fans eight in no-decision
      Gore did not factor into the decision in Monday's 9-7 loss to the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The Washington southpaw created an incredible 21 whiffs to collect his eight punchouts, and he left the game with the Nationals ahead 2-0 only to watch Derek Law immediately cough up the lead. This was a bounce-back performance for Gore as he struggled in five June starts with a 5.13 ERA across 26.1 innings. The 25-year-old's season ERA now stands at 3.47 with 107:29 K:BB over 90.2 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to make his next outing against the Cardinals at home this weekend.     • Making rehab start Wednesday
      Senga (shoulder/triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Brooklyn on Wednesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Senga is slated to throw about 40 pitches in his first game appearance since he was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain back in February. The right-hander will require multiple rehab outings before returning from the 60-day injured list, but he should be able to make his first start for the Mets before the end of July if all goes well.     • Kodai Senga (shoulder) set for rehab start
      Kodai Senga, out since the beginning of the year with a shoulder injury, will make his first rehab start Wednesday with Single-A Brooklyn.

      Advice: He’s due to throw 40 pitches his first time out. The Mets haven’t announced a plan beyond that, but if all goes well, four rehab starts and return to the Mets rotation during the final week of July would seem to be a possibility. Rotoworld Monday, 1:56 pm

      Adell went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

      Advice: The Angels were down 7-1 heading into the ninth frame before mounting a rally that fell just short. Adell brought the team to within one run with his two-out, two-run blast in the inning. The long ball snapped a 15-game homerless drought for the outfielder, and he had struggled mightily during that stretch, slashing .111/.180/.156.
