  • Konerko and Rollins share Clemente Award
Paul Konerko and Jimmy Rollins were announced as co-winners of the 2014 Roberto Clemente Award on Friday.

Advice: The annual award, in existence since 1971, recognizes the MLB player who "best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual's contribution to his team" and is voted on by fans and members of the baseball media. This marks the first time that the award has been shared. Rotoworld.com

  • Giants sticking with same lineup in Game 3
Travis Ishikawa is in left field and batting seventh for Friday's World Series Game 3.

Advice: Giants manager Bruce Bochy is sticking with the same lineup, which means Ishikawa is still in left and Michael Morse is back on the bench after serving as the DH in Kansas City. They'll square off against the Royals' Jeremy Guthrie. Rotoworld.com

  • Colabello to undergo tests on right thumb
Chris Colabello is scheduled to undergo X-rays and an MRI on his right thumb this week.

Advice: Colabello has been bothered by discomfort in the thumb since getting jammed by a Grant Balfour pitch on April 23 in Tampa Bay. That set off an 8-for-73 slump, and he finished the 2014 season with a rough .229/.282/.380 slash line. It's not clear how Colabello fits into the Twins' plans for 2015. There's talk that he might be shopped to a Korean team. Rotoworld.com

  • Butler has two RBI, Royals prevail in Game 2
Billy Butler went 2-for-3 with two RBI, driving in the game-winning run as the Royals bested the Giants 7-2 in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday.

Advice: Butler delivered two of the game's biggest hits, swatting an RBI single in the first inning to get the Royals on the board and roping a single over Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford in the sixth that gave the Royals a 3-2 lead. They wouldn't look back, putting up four more runs in the inning en route to the five-run win. Once in danger of losing his starting job, Country Breakfast has come up big time and again this postseason. Going to a National League park for three games Butler may have trouble finding at-bats, but he'll likely be the first man off the bench for manager Ned Yost in pinch-hitting spots. Rotoworld.com

  • Ishikawa's walk-off HR sends Giants to WS
Travis Ishikawa launched a walk-off, three-run homer in the ninth inning Thursday to propel the Giants over the Cardinals in Game 5 of the NLCS.

Advice: Ishikawa had a misplay in left field in the third inning that gave the Cards their first run, but he certainly made up for it in a big way. After Michael Morse tied things up with a pinch-hit homer in the eighth, Ishikawa deposited a Michael Wacha pitch just over the wall in right field to send the Giants to their third World Series in the last five years. They'll face the Royals in Game 1 on Tuesday. Rotoworld.com

  • Davis likely to be traded again this winter
Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports that the Pirates are likely to trade Ike Davis this offseason.

Advice: Although the Pirates haven't officially committed to moving Pedro Alvarez to first base next season, the expectation is that a position switch is coming. That, of course, would leave Davis without a position. Davis is arbitration-eligible again this winter after making $3.5 million in 2014, so he could wind up being non-tendered if the Pirates are unable to find a trade partner. Martino says the Marlins like Davis and could have interest. Rotoworld.com

  • Travis Ishikawa rips bases-clearing double
Travis Ishikawa delivered a bases-clearing double in the first inning of Tuesday's NLCS Game 3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: The Cards intentionally walked Brandon Belt to get to Ishikawa, who made them pay with a long drive off the right-field wall. Ishikawa has four hits in eight at-bats during the NLCS and is hitting a solid .286/.348/.381 overall during the postseason, settling in as the regular left fielder for the Giants. Rotoworld.com

  • Napoli to have surgery for sleep disorder
Mike Napoli will undergo surgery for a sleep disorder.

Advice: Napoli has been dealing with sleep apnea for his entire career and has tried various methods to treat it, but nothing has worked. The surgery, which is called maxillomandibular advancement, actually moves the upper jaw and the lower jaw forward. Napoli also dealt with injuries to his finger, toe, and back this season, but he will not require surgery for any of them. Rotoworld.com
