  • Ryon Healy leaves the yard again in victory
Ryon Healy clobbered another home run on Sunday as the Athletics routed the Rangers 7-1 in Oakland.

Advice: All of the damage came during a seven-run uprising in the second inning, which Healy capped off with a two-run homer to chase Colby Lewis from the game. He has really opened some eyes during his time with the big league club, slashing .303/.336/.519 with 12 homers and 33 RBI in 241 at-bats. He has likely played his way into a role as the club's starting third baseman heading into 2017. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:40 pm

  • Franco homers in third straight to top Mets
Maikel Franco homered in his third straight game Saturday, and the Phillies outlasted the Mets 10-8.

Advice: For the fourth game in a row, Franco had two hits, and for the third straight game one of those hits left the yard. He finished 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored on Saturday, with his three-run jack in the first inning accounting for all his runs driven in. He's finishing a relatively disappointing season on a high note, as the 24-year-old now has 25 homers and 87 RBI to go with a .253/.304/.433 line overall. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:16 pm
  • Dietrich launches seventh homer versus Braves
Derek Dietrich hit a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Braves.

Advice: Dietrich hit the two-run blast off Braves starter Aaron Blair in the first inning. He finished 1-for-4 in the game. Dietrich now has seven homers and 42 RBI in 122 games, batting a respectable .286/.381/.437 in that span. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Drew picks up two-run single against Pirates
Stephen Drew went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Drew had a big two-run single in the first inning to widen the Nats' early lead, and they never looked back. In his last four games, Drew is 6-for-15 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored, and with Daniel Murphy still sidelined it's likely the 33-year-old continues to get regular playing time as the season winds down. Drew is hitting .281/.345/.539 in 64 games this year. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:56 pm

  • Tyler Saladino (back) to see doctor on Monday
White Sox manager Robin Ventura expects Tyler Saladino (back) will have his back checked out when the team returns home on Monday.

Advice: He was scratched from Friday's lineup with back discomfort and is expected to miss the entire weekend series in Cleveland. It's been a rough injury month for Saladino, who just returned after missing three games with a calf issue earlier this week. The 27-year-old has hit .282 this year with eight homers, 38 RBI and 11 steals. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:41 pm

  • Yangervis Solarte returns after wife's death
Yangervis Solarte has rejoined the Padres.

Advice: He hasn't played since his wife passed away from cancer last weekend. Solarte has had a strong season for the Padres, hitting .284 with a career-high 15 HR and 68 RBI. Ryan Schimpf handed third base during his absence. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm

  • Flores (wrist) could be done for the year
ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports Wilmer Flores (wrist) may be done for the season.

Advice: He isn't close to swinging a bat and has already received two cortisone shots since going down with a bruised wrist two weeks ago. Flores could return if the Mets make a deep postseason run but it's a near certainty he won't be back for the final week of the regular season. Assuming that's the case, Flores will close out the 2016 campaign with 16 HR, 49 RBI and a .267 average across 307 at-bats. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:46 pm

  • Sandoval could return if 'the need arises'
Red Sox manager John Farrell said Pablo Sandoval (shoulder) could return this season "if the need arises."

Advice: Sandoval is well ahead of schedule in his recovery from shoulder surgery. He's made two appearances in the fall instructional league at DH and took batting practice with the Red Sox on Saturday. It's still a long shot but there's an outside chance Panda could make the postseason roster, particularly if something happens to Aaron Hill, Travis Shaw or Brock Holt over the next week. • Escobar slugs game-tying homer vs. Astros
Yunel Escobar slugged a two-run homer and drew a walk in Friday’s win over the Astros.

Advice: After Cliff Pennington led off the top of the ninth inning with a single against Ken Giles, Escobar followed with a game-tying home run. The Angels would go on to plate six runs in the inning for the win. Escobar has hit safely in six straight games and is batting .310/.361/.400 with five homers and 38 RBI over 127 games this season. • Franco homers in loss to Mets
Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 with a long two-run homer Friday against the Mets.

Advice: After going without a homer in 27 games, Franco has now homered on back-to-back nights. While the 24-year-old has regressed from his impressive rookie season, he's showing some late life. He leads the Phillies with 24 homers and 84 RBI. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:14 pm
  • Garcia has three hits, go-ahead single in win
Adonis Garcia went 3-for-5 with a go-ahead RBI single in a 3-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: The Braves trailed 2-0 early on, but they tied things up in the sixth inning before Garcia put them in front in the ninth. The 31-year-old has enjoyed a productive second half and is batting .274/.314/.413 with 14 homers and 63 RBI on the year. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:59 pm

  • Prado delivers two-run double in loss
Martin Prado delivered a two-run double in Friday’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: His first-inning double gave the Marlins an early 2-0 lead, but they were held off the board the rest of the way. With seven homers, Prado hasn’t shown much punch this year, but he has driven in 73 runs to go along with a .308/.363/.418 batting line. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:57 pm

  • Bregman (hamstring) ran on treadmill Thursday
Alex Bregman (hamstring) did some running on a treadmill Thursday.

Advice: It was at a very low intensity, but it was the first time he's done any running since suffering a right hamstring strain on September 14. Bregman said Thursday that he's "hoping to come back sooner rather than later and trying to do anything I can to help contribute," but the reality is that the Astros would probably have to make a deep playoff run for him to have a chance to return. • Franco homers, has four RBI in loss to Mets
Maikel Franco did everything he could to get the Phillies past the Mets on Thursday, finishing 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the loss.

Advice: Franco muscled an Addison Reed pitch to the opposite field in the eighth inning, barely clearing the wall for a three-run shot that gave the Phillies a late lead. After the Mets came back in the ninth, Franco then drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the 11th. Of course, that run wouldn't hold up, either, but there's only so much one man can do. With Thursday's game, the 24-year-old is hitting .250/.310/.422 with 23 homers, 83 RBI and 59 runs scored in 143 games. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:53 pm
  • Reyes homers, scores three runs against Phils
Jose Reyes went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Phillies.

Advice: With the Mets down two runs in the ninth and Phillies closer Jeanmar Gomez on to save the game, Reyes yanked a pitch over the right-center field wall to tie the game and send it to extras. Reyes also scored on Asdrubal Cabrera's walk-off, three-run home run two innings later. The homer was the eighth for Reyes in 52 games this year, giving him 18 RBI and 41 runs scored. • Hernandez reaches five times, scores thrice
Cesar Hernandez went 2-for-3 with three walks and three runs scored in Thursday's marathon loss to the Mets.

Advice: Hernandez chipped in a single and a triple in the 11-inning contest, and it was the second time this year that he's reached base five times in a game. The 26-year-old has a sneaky nine-game hitting streak going, during which he's 13-for-37 (.351) with a pair of triples and eight runs scored. The good stretch has his overall line up to .293/.367/.398 in 146 games. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:45 pm

  • Wilmer Flores (wrist) won't play on Thursday
Mets manager Terry Collins has ruled out Wilmer Flores (wrist) for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Collins deemed the worry-level surrounding Flores' wrist as a "DEFCON 4," so that is somewhat disconcerting. The team had hoped that the 25-year-old infielder would be able to return to the lineup against Phillies southpaw Adam Morgan on Thursday. Flores is currently sidelined by a left wrist injury suffered in a collision at home plate on September 10. He has been given two cortisone shots in the intervening days, but Collins said Flores has not been able to swing a bat since the collision. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:26 pm

  • Escobar has run scored, RBI with three hits
Yunel Escobar finished 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a run scored Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: Escobar swatted a pair of doubles to go with his RBI single in the second inning. The three-hit game matched his hit output in his last eight contests, as he saw his average fall from .321 to .306 in that stretch. • Bregman (hamstring) likely done for season
Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said Monday that Alex Bregman's hamstring injury usually requires 4-6 weeks of recovery time.

Advice: Bregman just suffered the injury last Wednesday, so it's safe to say that we won't see him again during the regular season. Luhnow indicated that his timetable could potentially be pushed up, so there's a chance he could be in the mix if the Astros sneak into a Wild Card spot and make a push in the playoffs.
