• DH only for now
Massey will be available only as a designated hitter for the time being as he returns from a back injury, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Massey was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday after missing time with a low-back ligament sprain, which was the second time this season he's missed time with a back issue. While the 26-year-old is feeling good physically, he needs some time before he's ready to play second base again. The Royals shifted Maikel Garcia over to second base and started CJ Alexander at third base Monday. Nick Loftin should also see plenty of reps at second base on days Garcia plays third, a position more familiar to him. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

  • Swipes bag in loss
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Hoerner hasn't hit all that well in June (.194), but he's logged six steals over 19 contests this month. The infielder is up to 12 thefts on 14 attempts for the season, providing speed atop the Cubs' lineup. He's added a .241/.331/.327 slash line with two home runs, 18 RBI, 36 runs scored, 14 doubles and a triple over 70 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm

  • Returns from injured list
The Royals activated Massey (back) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll serve as the Royals' designated hitter and No. 5 batter in Monday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Massey has been limited to just 29 games this season because of a pair of back-related absences. He responded well to a recent pain-killing injection, however, and is ready to rejoin the Royals after completing a five-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha this past week. There's certainly risk in another aggravation of the back issue, but Massey is worth picking up in fantasy leagues where available given how well he had been hitting before getting hurt (.835 OPS in 110 plate appearances with Kansas City). • Royals activate Michael Massey from injured list
Royals activated 2B Michael Massey from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Massey wasn’t expected to return just yet, but the Royals are bringing him back early with Adam Frazier down. Massey, who missed a month with a sprained back ligament, had played in five Double-A rehab games, going 4-for-21 with no extra-base hits, but he was still being limited to DH duties. He may spend some time there for the Royals, too. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:34 pm

  • Clubs homer Friday
Castro went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and two total runs scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Castro logged his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five games, with the lone exception being Thursday when he started the game on the bench. Batting .290 (20-for-69) in June, Castro has been impressive for the Twins, and it hasn't been just an empty average. He has nine extra-base hits, eight RBI and 13 runs scored over 19 contests this month. For the season, he's posted a .272/.357/.444 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 43 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a career-high 19 doubles through 76 games. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:30 pm

  • Long starting streak comes to end
Castro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

Advice: For the first time since April 15, Castro will head to the bench, ending a streak of 59 consecutive starts. Though he opened the season in a utility role, Castro has solidified an everyday role thanks to his positional versatility and solid production at the plate. Austin Martin will enter the lineup at second base in place of Castro, who has been dialed in of late with a .368/.429/.605 slash line to go with one home run, six doubles, one stolen base, nine runs and four RBI over his last nine starts. • Getting breather Wednesday
Rojas isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rojas will take a seat Wednesday after going 4-for-9 with an RBI and three runs scored through the first two games of the series. He will be replaced at shortstop by Enrique Hernandez, who will bat eighth. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:09 pm

  • Willi Castro plates three in victory over Rays
Willi Castro doubled twice and finished with three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Twins to a 7-6 victory over the Rays.

Advice: Castro put Minnesota ahead briefly in a topsy-turvy marathon at Target Field with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning off Rays starter Aaron Civale. He also recorded another double and walked in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot. The 27-year-old has been locked-in at the dish over the last few days, hitting .379 (11-for-29) with one homer and one steal over his last seven games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:20 am

  • Collects three hits Monday
Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI against the Rockies in Monday's 9-5 victory.

Advice: With Mookie Betts going down with a fractured left hand Sunday and set to miss several weeks, Rojas appears primed for a near-everyday role at shortstop. He did his best Betts impression Monday, notching three hits for the third time this season and scoring twice. Naturally, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Rojas to come anywhere near Betts' level of production, though the former Miami Marlin is having a solid season at the dish with a .292/.339/.460 slash line, three homers, 10 doubles, 15 RBI, 15 runs and three stolen bases through 121 plate appearances.
