    • Tovar goes deep twice against Cardinals
      Ezequiel Tovar went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

      Advice: The two home runs give Tovar 10 on the season. He hit a solo home run off Kyle Gibson in the sixth inning and a two-run home run that gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead off Andrew Kittredge in the seventh inning.       Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 against the Orioles on Saturday.

      Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After wining the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP.       Suzuki (oblique) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

      Advice: Suzuki was hit in the left side by a throw while stealing second base during Friday's loss, and he was later taken out of the game as a precaution after he felt his oblique tighten up. It's still unclear how serious his injury is, but the Cubs will play it safe Saturday and keep him sidelined.       Irvin (6-2) picked up the win Friday in a 6-3 victory over the Rays, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six without walking a battter.

      Advice: Three straight singles in the sixth inning kept Irvin from recording his fifth quality start of the season, but the southpaw did tie his season high in strikeouts. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last 10 appearances (eight starts) dating back to April 15, posting a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 52.2 innings over that stretch.       Logan Webb pitched the Giants past the Rangers with seven innings of two-run ball on Friday.

      Advice: Webb’s peripherals aren’t up to par, but tonight will help. He struck out six while walking none, and all five hits he allowed should have been singles (Wyatt Langford turned one into a double with his speed). Webb threw seven innings in his last outing but saw his streak of four straight quality starts come to an end. With Friday's quality start in the books, he has 10 in his 14 appearances this season.
