    • Ronel Blanco can’t overcome red-hot Mets
Ronel Blano was pulled after 5 2/3 innings after allowing six runs, three earned, on Friday against the Mets. He struck out five and walked three in a loss.

Advice: Blanco pitched fine Friday. His three unearned runs came as a result of an Alex Bregman two-out error that allowed Jeff McNeil to sneak a ball just over the right field fence in the next at-bat. That was the Mets’ third home run of the game as Tyrone Taylor and Pete Alonso also left the yard. He still missed plenty of bats with 12 whiffs on the day and would have earned his fourth straight quality start if Bregman had fielded that ground ball cleanly. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • MartĂn PĂ©rez hammered by Braves
MartĂn PĂ©rez allowed six earned runs in four innings of work Friday against the Braves. He struck out four and walked two in a loss.

Advice: Atlanta put up five of their six runs against PĂ©rez in a loud third inning that included two doubles, three singles, and two walks. His usual pitch-to-contact plan fueled by sinkers and cutters did not work against the Braves’ suddenly surging lineup. Rotoworld Today, 7:08 pm

    • Albert SuĂĄrez scoreless over six innings in win
Albert SuĂĄrez shut the Rangers out over six innings on Friday. He struck out two and walked none in a 2-1 win for the Orioles.

Advice: This was Suárez’s first quality start of the season. In fact, it was the first time he completed six innings. He didn’t have great swing and miss stuff or command of his off-speed pitches, but filled up the zone with his fastball and forced the Rangers into plenty of lazy fly balls. It’s hard to get very excited about him until we see more consistent strikeout totals. He has just 21 punch outs in 25 innings this month. Rotoworld Today, 6:45 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel nails down another save
Craig Kimbrel struck out two Rangers in a clean ninth innings to earn the save for Baltimore on Friday.

Advice: Kimbrel has been nails of late. He’s converted 11 of his last 12 save chances and allowed just one earned run since May 10th. He’s been one of the best and most surprising closers in baseball this season. Rotoworld Today, 6:44 pm

    • Randy Vasquez diagnosed with forearm contusion
Randy Vasquez was diagnosed with right forearm contusion after being hit by a line drive during Friday night’s start against the Red Sox.

Advice: Fortunately, it sounds like the 25-year-old hurler was able to avoid any serious injury after being struck by a Ceddanne Rafaela line drive to open the fifth inning on Friday. Unfortunately, his early exit from the game did cost him a victory. He should be able to make his next scheduled turn in the Padres’ rotation on Thursday against the Rangers in Texas. • Pete Fairbanks slams door on Nationals in ninth
Pete Fairbanks slammed the door on the Nationals in the ninth inning on Friday night, protecting a two-run lead to earn his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Fairbanks had to work a bit in the ninth inning of this one, as he issued a one-out walk to Keibert Ruiz to bring the tying run to the plate. He battled back though, getting Eddie Rosario on a line drive to right field and Nick Senzel on a ground ball to first base to end it. In all, he needed 22 pitches (13 strikes) to get the job done. On the season, Fairbanks now sports a 3.14 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 30/13 K/BB ratio over 28 innings to go along with 13 saves and two victories. Rotoworld Today, 6:26 pm
    • Struck by comebacker, exits early
Vasquez was removed from his start Friday against the Red Sox after getting hit in the right forearm by a comebacker, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Vasquez took a 98-mph line drive off his forearm during the fifth inning of Friday's contest, and he was taken out of the game after conferring with a trainer. He'll head into the clubhouse for imaging, and the Padres should have an update on the severity of his injury within the near future. The 25-year-old righty had allowed one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out one batter over four innings before being taken out of the game. Rotowire.com Today, 6:17 pm

    • Randy Vasquez exits start after being hit by liner
Randy Vasquez was removed from Friday night’s start against the Red Sox after being hit in the forearm by a line drive.

Advice: The batted ball came from Ceddanne Rafaela leading off the fifth inning. Vasquez had allowed just one run on five hits and a walk through his four innings of work while striking out one. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers, as Vasquez had a 9-1 advantage in the ballgame and looked poised to secure a victory in the start. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures and the Padres should have an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Today, 5:54 pm

    • Solid in loss
Tyler (0-1) took the loss against the Phillies on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Tyler opened with four scoreless innings but put runners on the corners with no outs in the fifth. He was able to limit the damage to one run and was pulled with one out to go in the frame at 81 pitches. The Phillies were without recently injured sluggers Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin), but Tyler has now allowed three total earned runs with a 6:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings in his first two major-league starts. The 27-year-old likely earned another start next week against the Red Sox. Rotowire.com Today, 5:51 pm
