  • Matt Duffy hits second homer
Matt Duffy hit his second homer as part of a 3-for-5 night against the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Duffy has established himself as the Giants' best option at third base, for better or worse. He's not going to be much of an asset offensively, but he's certainly outplayed Casey McGehee to date. Rotoworld.com

  • D.J. LeMahieu hits second homer
D.J. LeMahieu went 2-for-4 and hit his second homer Friday against the Giants.

Advice: LeMahieu is bating .326, but between his placement at the bottom of the Rockies order and his poor baserunning, he's scored just 13 runs. Fortunately, he's driven in 20, which has resulted in some surprising early-season fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

  • Rays option Tim Beckham to Triple-A Durham
Rays optioned INF Tim Beckham to Triple-A Durham.

Advice: The 25-year-old infielder went 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season on Friday, but became a roster casualty as the Rays needed a fresh arm in the bullpen. While he has shown flashes, he's hitting just .224/.266/.459 on the year and could benefit from everyday at-bats at Triple-A. Rotoworld.com

  • Eddie Rosario goes 0-for-2
Eddie Rosario struck out twice and was credited with a sac bunt during Friday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Since homering in his first major league at-bat, Rosario is 7-for-35 with one extra-base hit (a double) and a 15/1 K/BB ratio. But given his lousy Triple-A numbers, that shouldn't really come as any surprise. Instead of keeping him around as a backup, the Twins will probably return him to Triple-A soon. Rotoworld.com

  • Gregorius launches three-run homer in loss
Didi Gregorius launched a three-run homer on Friday, but it wasn't enough for the Yankees to overcome the Rangers.

Advice: His three-run shot, his first of the season, came off Rangers starter Colby Lewis in the fourth inning, cutting the Rangers lead to 7-4 at the time. He has been a major disappointment at the dish early in the season, slashing a mere .217/.278/.278 with 10 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Odubel Herrera plates lone run in loss Friday
Odubel Herrera went 1-for-3 and plated the Phillies lone run in Friday's loss to Max Scherzer and the Nationals.

Advice: His run-scoring double in the second inning plated Maikel Franco and gave the Phillies an early 1-0 lead, but that would be the extent of their offense on the evening. Herrera also drew a walk in the ballgame and is now slashing .263/.300/.375 with 14 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com

  • Ryan Brett ready for rehab assignment
Ryan Brett (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Sunday.

Advice: Brett has been out for nearly a month with a subluxation of the left shoulder. He'll probably be sent down to Triple-A Durham once ready. Rotoworld.com

  • Rey Navarro optioned to Triple-A
Orioles optioned INF Rey Navarro to Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Navarro batted .276/.276/.448 with one homer while up with the big club. He was no longer needed with Everth Cabrera (foot) back from the disabled list. Rotoworld.com

  • Blue Jays add Munenorl Kawasaki from Triple-A
Blue Jays purchased the contract of INF Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: The 33-year-old infielder will provide infield depth while Devon Travis is on the shelf with a shoulder injury. Through 22 games at Triple-A Buffalo, Kawasaki was hitting .232/.354/.290 with two RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld.com

  • Mike Aviles goes 4-for-5, homers
Mike Aviles went 4-for-5 and homered against the White Sox in Thursday's win.

Advice: Aviles is batting a cool .323 with three homers in 65 at-bats while primarily being used against lefties. It'd be nice if he were better at shortstop and more of an option over Jose Ramirez there, but as a platoon partner for Lonnie Chisenhall at third base, he's getting the job done. Rotoworld.com

  • Brock Holt goes 0-for-3 against Rangers
Brock Holt went 0-for-3 with a walk and struck out looking to end the game Thursday against the Rangers.

Advice: Holt's great start seems like a distance memory now; he's hitting .149 with one RBI in 47 at-bats since April 27. The Red Sox are playing him less with Shane Victorino (kind of) back, but he has started the last two days with Pablo Sandoval banged up. Rotoworld.com

  • Steve Tolleson reaches four times
Steve Tolleson went 2-for-2 with two walks, a steal and two runs scored Thursday against the Angels.

Advice: As usual, it was the Blue Jays' dynamic middle-infield combination leading the way, with Tolleson and Ryan Goins reaching base in a combined seven of eight plate appearances. Who needs Devon Travis and Jose Reyes anyway? Rotoworld.com

  • Pearce wallops grand slam off Happ in first
Steven Pearce hit a grand slam in the first inning of Thursday's 5-4 win over Mariners.

Advice: Pearce hit the four-bagger off of J.A. Happ with two outs in the first inning. It was Pearce's fourth homer of the season and pushed his RBI count to 15. While he does have a little sneaky pop in his bat, it's not enough to overcome a .198/.275/.341 batting line. Continue to disregard him for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld.com

  • Flaherty (groin) expected to begin rehab soon
Ryan Flaherty (groin) is expected to begin playing in rehab games with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday or Monday.

Advice: Flaherty has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 12 because of a mild right groin strain. He should be ready to return when first eligible and will likely resume getting regular starts at second base for the Orioles, who will be without Jonathan Schoop (knee) until mid-July. Rotoworld.com

  • Cabrera lifts second home run in win over ATL
Asdrubal Cabrera hit his second home run of the season in Tuesday's win over the Braves.

Advice: Cabrera hit a solo shot off Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz in the fourth inning, his only hit in four at-bats. Cabrera was given a prime opportunity early in the season, batting third for 23 games for manager Kevin Cash, but he failed to capitalize and has now been moved lower in the order. The infielder is batting just .214 with his two homers and 11 RBI in 39 games. Rotoworld.com

  • Mike Aviles back from bereavement list
Indians activated INF/OF Mike Aviles from the bereavement list.

Advice: He was away from the club for a few days, unfortunately, because his daughter was receiving treatment for leukemia. Aviles is hitting .288/.373/.462 with a couple homers this season. Rotoworld.com

  • Pearce hits solo home run in loss to Angels
Steve Pearce went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Pearce hit the solo home run, his third of the season, off of Matt Shoemaker in the fourth inning. He finished with two hits. The Orioles as a team finished with three. This season, the light-hitting Pearce is batting .195/.276/.325 with three homers and 10 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Aviles (bereavement) expected back Monday
The Indians are expected to activate Mike Aviles (bereavement) from the disabled list on Monday.

Advice: He left the team while his daughter received treatment for leukemia. Aviles has started at four positions this year including left field, center field, shortstop and third base. The 34-year-old brings some versatility to the table but isn't much of a fantasy contributor. Rotoworld.com
