  • Delino Deshields close to returning from DL
Delino Deshields (hamstring) will be reevaluated after Saturday's workout.

Advice: Deshields recently wrapped up a six-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock and is close to 100 percent. He should be activated from the disabled list in the next day or two. Texas has a crowded outfield now with Josh Hamilton, Leonys Martin and Shin-Soo Choo all seeing regular at-bats. Deshields had 13 steals in 48 games before his injury. Rotoworld.com

  • Cubs move Tommy La Stella to 60-day DL
Cubs transferred 2B Tommy La Stella to the 60-day disabled list.

Advice: He's been out with an oblique injury since April 8. With Addison Russell settled in at second base, La Stella probably won't see much playing time when he comes back. Rotoworld.com

  • Ryan Flaherty optioned, could be back Monday
    Orioles optioned 2B Ryan Flaherty.

Advice: The Orioles needed to make room for Jonathan Schoop. Flaherty could return to the roster as soon as Monday. That's when the O's are expected to place Nolan Reimold on the paternity list. Usually when someone gets sent down they have to stay in the minors for a minimum of 10 days, but that doesn't apply to players on paternity leave. Rotoworld.com

  • Jonathan Schoop (knee) activated from DL
Orioles activated Jonathan Schoop (knee) from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: He rejoined the Orioles in Chicago Saturday after completing a 10-game rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie and High-A Frederick. The 23-year-old hit .259 in nine games before a sprained PCL sent him to the disabled list in mid-April. Ryan Flaherty was optioned in the corresponding roster move. Rotoworld.com

  • Yangervis Solarte goes deep on Saturday
Yangervis Solarte belted his fourth home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: His solo blast off Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez in the fourth inning wound up being the extent of the Padres offense in the contest. He finished the day 1-for-4 and is now hitting .249/.298/.378 with four homers and 30 RBI on the season. Rotoworld.com

  • Logan Forsythe not in Rays lineup on Saturday
Logan Forsythe is not in the Rays starting lineup on Saturday against the Yankees.

Advice: He'll take a seat against tough opposing right-hander Michael Pineda. Jake Elmore will draw the start in his place at second base and bat eighth for the Rays on Saturday. Rotoworld.com

  • Cliff Pennington comes up big as Arizona wins
Cliff Pennington delivered a game-tying single in the sixth and a game-ending sac fly in the 10th as the Diamondbacks topped the Rockies 4-3 on Friday.

Advice: Pennington remains a fine utilityman, but the Diamondbacks haven't gotten a ton of use from him this year with Nick Ahmed playing well at short and Aaron Hill acting as the primary fallback at second and third. The runs batted in he collected tonight were just his sixth and seventh of the season, and it was also only his second multihit game. Rotoworld.com

  • Gyorko's big day propels Padres over Cards
Jedd Gyorko hit a game-tying homer in the seventh inning and a go-ahead RBI single in the ninth to help lead the Padres to a 2-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: Gyorko was just called up on June 30 to help fill in for the injured Cory Spangenberg (knee). He showed his worth on Friday when he homered off of the ever-dominant Michael Wacha in the seventh inning to tie the game at 1-1. He then helped ensure things wouldn't move to extras when he singled home Yangervis Solarte in the ninth inning to put the Padres up 2-1. Gyorko hit .283/.368/.500 with four home runs in 15 games for Triple-A El Paso after being sent down in early June and should see his share of playing time in the near future, though there's little to love on the fantasy front here. • Solarte triples in win over Cardinals
Yangervis Solarte went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Friday's win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Don't expect to see Solarte legging out triples on a regular basis. The three-bagger was his first of the season and just the second of his career. He's hitting .249/.299/.367 with three homers and 29 RBI for the 2015 campaign and shouldn't be relied upon in fantasy formats, despite the newfound existence of wheels on those feet. Rotoworld.com

  • Brad Miller delivers eighth homer
Brad Miller collected his eighth homer and his 12th double Friday against the A's.

Advice: It's Miller's second homer in four games. His struggles in limited action against left-handers have taken a toll on his numbers, but he's hitting .267/.357/.487 versus righties. Rotoworld.com

  • Semien corks 7th HR in win vs. the Mariners
Marcus Semien hit a solo homer in a 4-0 win versus Seattle on Thursday.

Advice: Semien finished 1-for-3. His big contribution of the night was talking Roenis Elias deep in the fifth inning to give the A's a 3-0 cushion. Semien is slashing .259/.309/.402 and is on pace for 14 homers and 12 steals. Rotoworld.com

  • Solarte ejected from Thursday's game
Yangervis Solarte was ejected from Thursday's game in the sixth inning for arguing a check-swing call.

  • Brad Miller to remain M's starting shortstop
Despite the return of Chris Taylor, Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon clarified Thursday that Brad Miller will remain the team's starting shortstop.

Advice: The 25-year-old has struggled at the dish this season, slashing .238/.319/.403 with seven homers and 22 RBI in his 74 games. It sounds like it's a vote of confidence from the skipper, but if Taylor continues to mash the baseball he'll find his way into more playing time soon enough. Rotoworld.com

  • Herrera hits two-run homer and sacrifice fly
Jonathan Herrera went 1-for-2 with a homer and three RBI in Thursday afternoon's win over the Mets.

Advice: Herrera sacrificed in a run in the second inning, then took Mets starter Jacob deGrom deep for a two-run homer in the sixth to account for his three RBI on the day. It was his first long ball of the season. Over 70 at-bats, he's hitting .229/.250/.314, numbers that shouldn't put him near any fantasy radars. Rotoworld.com

  • Aviles launches go-ahead homer in 10th
Mike Aviles hit a go-ahead solo home run in the 10th inning on Thursday, helping to propel the Indians to a 5-4 win over the Rays.

Advice: Aviles homered off of Xavier Cedeno to lead off the 10th inning. His run would stand as the difference in the eventual 5-4 win. Across 153 at-bats, the veteran infielder has smacked four home runs and is hitting .256/.312/.365. Aviles is who he is as a player and there's no fantasy upside here. Rotoworld.com

  • Miller homers as Mariners blank the Padres
Brad Miller launched a two-run home run in a 2-for-4 effort as the Mariners shut the Padres out 5-0 on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller took Ian Kennedy out to right-center in the fourth inning for a two-run homer, making it a 4-0 Mariners lead at the time. It's his seventh homer of the season. He looks certain to surpass his career high of 10 set last season. He's also knocked in 22 runs while batting a passable .237/.316/.404. Rotoworld.com

  • Solarte prevents Padres from getting no-hit
Yangervis Solarte gave the Padres reason to smile in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners, as his seventh-inning double prevented a no-hitter.

Advice: Mariners starter Mike Montgomery hadn't allowed a hit with one out in the seventh inning when Solarte stepped to the plate. He saved his team from ignominy with a double, but he was ultimately stranded. Solarte had consecutive multi-hit games coming into Tuesday, but otherwise hasn't done much at the plate in 2015, batting .247/.299/.344 with two home runs and 28 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Schoop (knee) likely to remain in minors
Jonathan Schoop (knee) is likely to remain in the minor leagues for the remainder of this week.

  • Padres call up Jedd Gyorko from Triple-A
Padres recalled INF Jedd Gyorko from Triple-A El Paso.

Advice: He'll replace the injured Cory Spangenberg (knee) on the active roster and figures to see at least part-time at-bats at second base. The 26-year-old was batting just .210/.282/.311 prior to his demotion earlier this month, but he was swinging the bat well during his time in Triple-A. Rotoworld.com

  • Jedd Gyorko to be recalled by Padres
Jedd Gyorko will be recalled prior to Tuesday's game versus the Mariners.

Advice: The Padres are expected to place someone on the disabled list, with Will Middlebrooks (ankle) and Cory Spangenberg (knee) being the most likely options. Gyorko has hit .283/.368/.500 with four homers over 15 games for Triple-A El Paso after being sent down earlier this month. He could wind up seeing a decent amount of playing time, depending on what the club's corresponding move is. Rotoworld.com

Jonathan Schoop (knee) will take batting practice with the Orioles on Monday.

  • Decision coming on Jonathan Schoop (knee)
The Orioles are expected to make a decision on Jonathan Schoop (knee) on Monday.

Advice: Schoop will either be activated from the disabled list or continue his rehab with Triple-A Norfolk. He's been rehabbing at Double-A Bowie but the Baysox are going on the road and the Orioles would prefer to have Schoop closer to Baltimore. Schoop's 20-day rehab window expires on July 8. • Forsythe stays hot against Red Sox
Logan Forsythe was 3-for-5 with a run scored against the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Forsythe cooled off significantly earlier this month, but he's hitting .476 (20-for-42) over his last 11 games. With a .298/.378/.453 batting line to go along with eight home runs, 32 RBI, and seven steals, he's been a nice surprise for the Rays and fantasy owners alike. Rotoworld.com

Jonathan Schoop (knee) could be activated from the disabled list on Saturday.
