    • White Sox sent INF Angel Sanchez outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Advice: A Rule 5 pick, Sanchez cleared waivers and was rejected when offered back to the Angels. Sanchez no longer is required to be on the 25-man roster and will continue to provide depth in the minors.

    • CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the White Sox have placed infielder Angel Sanchez (back) on waivers.
Advice: Sanchez, a Rule 5 pick, has been on the disabled list for a little over a month with a lower back strain and is seven games into a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. If he goes unclaimed, he will be offered back to the Angels.

    • Dustin Pedroia had a go-ahead RBI double in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Indians.
Advice: It was part of a four-run eighth inning for Boston. Pedroia just missed his third home run of the season with the double, as it bounced off the top of the Green Monster, but it's hard for fantasy owners to complain. He's hitting .337 with 25 RBI, eight stolen bases and 35 runs scored through 50 games.

    • Emilio Bonifacio swatted his second home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Orioles.
Advice: It was a solo shot. While fantasy owners will take the power, Bonifacio has been a disappointment otherwise this year. The 28-year-old is hitting just .212 with a .246 on-base percentage in 41 games and has only stolen four bases.

    • Jed Lowrie (foot) is out of the A's starting lineup again on Saturday night against the Astros.
Advice: Lowrie has been on the shelf since taking a Yu Darvish pitch off his right foot Tuesday. X-rays came back negative but the shortstop still has some soreness.

    • Jed Lowrie (foot) is out of the Athletics' lineup again Friday.
Advice: Lowrie hasn't played since he was hit in the right foot by Yu Darvish on Tuesday. X-rays came back negative, but he's still dealing with some soreness. Consider him day-to-day for now.

    • An X-ray on Jed Lowrie's right foot came back clean.
Advice: Lowrie was injury Tuesday when he was hit by a Yu Darvish pitch. He won't play Wednesday but should be back in the lineup Friday following Thursday's off day.

    • Derek Dietrich hit a solo home run Saturday in the Marlins' loss to the White Sox.
Advice: Dietrich's solo shot in the top of the ninth inning gave the Fish their only run of the evening. Jake Peavy largely dominated the rest of the Marlins lineup. Dietrich, 23, has three home runs in 14 major leagues games and is worth a roster spot right now in NL-only leagues. He was raking at Double-A before his early-May callup.

    • Ronny Cedeno (illness) went 1-for-3 with a strikeout in his return to action Friday.
Advice: Cedeno missed time earlier this week with a sinus infection, but it's no longer an issue. He'll return to a part-time role at shortstop with Marwin Gonzalez.

    • Jeff Keppinger delivered a walk-off RBI single in a 4-3 win over the Marlins in 11 innings on Friday.
Advice: Keppinger sneaked it through the left side of the infield with the bases loaded to win it. The veteran infielder went 2-for-5 with two RBI on the night and is hitting .343 (11-for-32) over his last nine games. The recent hot streak has only pulled his batting average up to .210 for the year, but we expect it to continue to rise in the days ahead.

    • Jerry Hairston Jr. (knee, groin) will begin his minor league rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday.
Advice: Hairston originally landed on the disabled list with a left groin strain earlier this month, but then had a setback when he tweaked his knee. Barring any setbacks, he should be able to rejoin the Dodgers before the end of the month.

    • An MRI on Jerry Hairston Jr.'s knee has revealed tendinitis.
Advice: Hairston is on the DL with a left groin strain, but it appears that the knee might be a bigger issue at the moment. However, he still played in an extended spring training game Monday, so it appears that it's not a significant setback. He could still be ready to return before the end of the month.

    • Mariners designated INF Robert Andino for assignment.
Advice: Andino gets the boot after batting just .184 (14-for-76) with a 27/7 K/BB ratio in 29 games. Carlos Triunfel has been promoted from Triple-A Tacoma to replace him on the active roster, but the move could set the wheels in motion for Brad Miller to eventually make his way to the majors.

    • Gordon Beckham isn't playing Friday with Triple-A Charlotte due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand.
Advice: Beckham had surgery in mid-April to remove the hamate bone from his hand, so the White Sox don't want to take any chances. He's expected to be held out of action until next Wednesday at the earliest.

    • Gordon Beckham (hand) started at shortstop Monday in his third rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.
Advice: Beckham played shortstop in college and as a prospect, but he has never done so in the majors. Of course, Alexei Ramirez is in the second year of a four-year, $32.5 million contract, so there would have to be an injury or a trade for him to get a look there with the big club. Still, it's an interesting development. Beckham is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with one double and two RBI over three rehab games and should be activated this weekend.

    • Gordon Beckham (hand) tallied three hits Sunday in his second rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.
Advice: Beckham went 2-for-4 on Saturday in his rehab debut and is looking ready to rejoin the White Sox. But since he's been out so long -- over five weeks -- the second baseman will likely remain on the farm until Friday.

    • Danny Espinosa has been playing with a small fracture in his right wrist for the past month.
Advice: It's actually a loose bone chip in his hand. The injury stems from when he was hit by a pitch from Paul Maholm on April 14 and certainly explains his struggles. Espinosa hopes to avoid a trip to the disabled list and possible surgery, but the Nationals plan to rest him for a few days. Steve Lombardozzi will fill in at second base for the time being.

    • Danny Espinosa went hitless in a fourth straight game Tuesday, leaving him with a .159 average in 139 at-bats.
Advice: Maybe more patience would be warranted if Espinosa were healthy, but it's quite possible he needs surgery for the partial rotator cuff tear he suffered last year. Besides, he's just killing the Nationals offense right now. Not only is he batting .159, but he's walked just three times all year. His OBP stands at .186.

    • Michael Young was hitless in four at-bats in Friday and has just one RBI over his last 14 games.
Advice: Young has a decent .280 batting average to go along with a .378 on-base percentage, but he has done little else to help in fantasy leagues. Through 47 games, he has just one home run to go along with 10 RBI. With his penchant for ground balls (he had three ground outs on Friday), we're not banking on a power resurgence.

    • Steve Lombardozzi went 3-for-4 with a two-run double in Friday's win over the Phillies.
Advice: The three-hit night pulled his batting average up from .220 to .242 on the year. With Danny Espinosa (wrist) ailing, Lombardozzi should get regular playing time at second base over the next few days. He doesn't excel in any one category, but with his multi-position eligibility, he could be useful in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.
