    • Christian Encarnacion-Strand day-to-day with illness
Christian Encarnacion-Strand is day-to-day due to illness.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand wasn’t feeling well, which led to him sitting out Wednesday’s series finale against the Mariners. The 24-year-old slugger figures to be ready to return to Cincinnati’s lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 4:10 pm
    • Collects fifth save
Iglesias walked one in a scoreless 10th inning Wednesday to record his fifth save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Astros.

Advice: After Atlanta grabbed the lead in the top of the 10th, Iglesias walked Kyle Tucker on five pitches to lead off the bottom of the frame and set up a double play, and the right-hander got one from Jeremy Pena to end the game. Iglesias is still looking for his peak velocity -- he topped out at 94.6 mph with his sinker Wednesday, below last season's 95.0 mph average -- and he has just a 3:1 K:BB through his first 6.1 innings. However, the 34-year-old is 5-for-5 in converting save chances and sports a 2.84 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. His job as Atlanta's closer remains secure. Rotowire.com Today, 6:31 am
    • Takes first loss
Pfaadt (1-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits over seven innings in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday. He struck out six.

Advice: Pfaadt kept Chicago's offense at bay over the first four innings, allowing just two singles over that stretch. However, he ran into some trouble in the fifth after Nico Hoerner reached base in the leadoff at-bat following a fielding error from Eugenio Suarez. The right-hander would only be charged for one of the two runs that came home in the frame, though he would go on to allow another run in the sixth, this time via a solo homer off the bat of Cody Bellinger. Pfaadt has now allowed at least three runs in each of his last three starts and has also surrendered six or more hits in each of those outings. He's also posted a 17:3 K:BB over that stretch. Bell didn't provide specifics on the symptoms but indicated Encarnacion-Strand wasn't feeling well in advance of the three-game series in Seattle. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 am
    • Goes 5.1 innings in no-decision

Advice: Daulton Varsho's two-run homer in the second inning accounted for the only runs against Stroman, but the Yankees couldn't take the lead until the ninth, leaving the right-hander with a no-decision. Stroman hasn't earned a win since his first start of the year against Houston -- overall, he's 1-1 with a 2.42 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB through his first four starts (22.1 innings). Stroman's currently slated to face the A's at home in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 pm

    • Brandon Pfaadt logs quality start in loss
Brandon Pfaadt logged a quality start in Wednesday afternoon’s loss to the Cubs, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits over seven strong innings of work.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander piled up six strikeouts on the afternoon and didn’t issue a base on balls. He kept the Cubs off the board until the fifth inning, where Mike Tauchman delivered an RBI double after Nico Hoerner had reached on an error, then Yan Gomes followed with a run-scoring single. • Raisel Iglesias gets save in 10th inning
Raisel Iglesias protected a one-run lead in the 10th for a save Wednesday against the Astros.

Lopez now has a 3.97 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB over 22.2 innings through four starts this season. He lines up for a favorable home matchup against the White Sox next week.
