    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits across 6.1 innings and did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Rangers. He walked one and struck out six.

Advice: Skubal has now given up two earned runs or fewer in three of his four starts this season, which has allowed him to post a stellar 2.28 ERA. The lefty also has 26 strikeouts across 23.2 innings, and his overall body of work makes him a very strong fantasy asset moving forward. Skubal is projected to take the mound again on Monday against the Rays, and he should be locked into lineups no matter the opponent, as he appears to be fairly matchup-proof at this point. • Tarik Skubal pitches into seventh in no-decision
Tarik Skubal was uninvolved in the decision after allowing four runs — two earned — in 6 1/3 innings Wednesday against the Rangers.

Advice: He struck out six and walked one. Skubal was fortunate that a pair of flyballs that would have been homers in the majority of ballparks turned into a double and an out in Comerica. He has a 2.28 ERA and a 26/5 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings in his four starts. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm

    • In Wednesday's lineup at DH
Manager Alex Cora said Devers (knee) will serve as the Red Sox's designated hitter in Wednesday's contest versus the Guardians, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Devers was removed from Tuesday's 10-7 loss to Cleveland due to left knee soreness, but he's feeling better than expected a day later and will be available Wednesday in a non-defensive role. He should be ready to return to third base in a day or two. Rotowire.com Today, 2:07 pm

    • Rafael Devers (knee) serving as DH on Wednesday
Rafael Devers (knee) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Guardians.

Advice: The 27-year-old superstar was pulled from Tuesday’s game due to left knee discomfort, but it appears to have been only a minor issue. On the season, Devers is hitting .205/.352/.409 with a pair of homers and five RBI through his first 54 plate appearances across 12 games. Rotoworld Today, 2:05 pm

    • Edouard Julien goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Edouard Julien went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Julien’s patience at the plate is getting in the way right now. Considering that he’s not someone who swings and misses a lot, it’s absurd that he’s striking out 38 percent of the time. He also walking only about two thirds as often as he did last year. (10.9% vs. 15.7%) That he has four homers means he hasn’t quite been a bust to date, but a .175/.266/.421 line isn’t what the Twins want from him. Rotoworld Today, 1:20 pm

    • Could be ready to play Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said in an interview on WEEI that Devers (knee) is feeling better and could be ready to play Wednesday versus the Guardians, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Devers had to depart Tuesday's game against Cleveland with left knee discomfort, but it sounds like he's avoided a serious injury. The Red Sox should reveal their lineup shortly, so it will be known soon enough whether Devers is fully cleared. Rotowire.com Today, 12:34 pm

    • Gets aboard four times
Kwan went 3-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-7 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Kwan is batting .400 (14-for-35) during his active eight-game hitting streak. He continues to put the ball in play with great success, batting .372 over 17 contests this season. He's added two home runs, five RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base. Kwan can still chip in a bit more with speed, but he's doing everything else right from atop the Guardians' order. • Lasts just four innings Tuesday
Greene did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners. He allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out eight over four innings.

Advice: Greene was inefficient in this one, needing 98 pitches to get through four frames. He navigated out of a bases-loaded jam in the third by striking out Mitch Haniger to end the inning, but Greene was unable to escape the fourth unscathed as Jonatan Clase knocked in Mitch Garver with a double. Greene has now failed to reach five innings in two of four starts this year and in those two starts he's issued at least three walks. Still, he's allowed two runs or fewer three times and will take a 4.35 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB (20.2 innings) into his next start, which projects to come against Philadelphia next week. • Goes deep in loss
Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run a double in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Chapman has two homers over the last four games and four on the year. The third baseman's blast Tuesday opened the scoring in the second inning. His power is a welcome sight after he hit just 17 homers in 2023, but he's batting just .205 with 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, a stolen base and three doubles through 18 contests so far in 2024.
