    • Pepiot gets tough luck no decision vs DET
Ryan Pepiot allowed one run on three hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: Pepiot struck out four and walked two on the evening but got no help from his offense. It wasn’t an overwhelming effort with a 22 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW, but Pepiot continued to pound the top of the strike zone with his four-seam fastball, which has been a big improvement now that he’s in Tampa. He simply didn’t have command of his slider tonight, keeping it up in the zone and missing his spots too often. He should be started against almost every opponent, including next week against the Brewers. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Jhoan Duran strikes out three in rehab outing
Jhoan Duran (oblique) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three on Tuesday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Duran threw 27 pitches (15 strikes) and averaged 98.1 mph on his fastball in his rehab debut. The hard-throwing 26-year-old closer should be ready to return at some point before the end of April. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Michael Harris doubles, drives in run vs. Marlins
Michael Harris went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI in the Braves’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Harris doubled in the second inning to score Marcell Ozuna from second, giving the Braves an early lead. That run would have proven to be more than enough in the shutout win, but a home run by Adam Duvall in the sixth added some insurance going into the later innings. Harris has now hit safely in six of his last seven games and continues to be one of the hottest bats in Atlanta’s lineup. Rotoworld Today, 6:30 pm

    • Willson Contreras leaves game early on Tuesday
Willson Contreras left Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent injury.

Advice: Contreras was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and a walk before appearing to suffer some sort of left side or left hand injury while grounding out in the fifth inning. It’s worth noting that the Cardinals were trailing by nine runs at the time, so it’s possible they just didn’t want to take any chances with him behind the plate for the remainder of the night. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Today, 6:24 pm
    • Heads to 15-day IL
The Diamondbacks placed Kelly on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to April 20, with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: Kelly was diagnosed with a teres major strain of his right shoulder following his initial MRI Sunday. He was scheduled to start Sunday's series finale in San Francisco, but he was scratched after experiencing discomfort prior to the game. The Diamondbacks were initially hopeful the 35-year-old would avoid a 15-day shutdown, but that naturally went by the wayside with Tuesday's development. In a corresponding move, Tommy Henry was recalled from Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com Today, 3:16 pm

    • Merrill Kelly heads to IL with shoulder strain
Diamondbacks placed RHP Merrill Kelly on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: Arizona manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Kelly will not require surgery to address a teres major strain in his right shoulder, but the club doesn’t know the severity or next steps for the 35-year-old veteran right-hander until he receives additional medical opinions. There should be some clarity on his return timetable in the coming days, but fantasy managers should expect him to require a lengthy absence, especially since shoulder issues can be extremely complicated matters. • Diagnosed with fractured rib
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas has been diagnosed with a fracture in his left ribcage and will be "out a while," Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Casas suffered the injury on a swing during Saturday's game in Pittsburgh and was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. It's a vague timetable provided by Cora, but a clearer picture should be available in the coming days and weeks. Bobby Dalbec is the current favorite to handle the bulk of the first base reps for Boston, but the club could seek help from outside the organization. Rotowire.com Today, 1:19 pm

    • Triston Casas ‘out a while’ with rib fracture
Triston Casas has been diagnosed with a left rib fracture.

Advice: Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Casas will be “out a while” after undergoing an MRI earlier this week that revealed a fracture in his left ribs. The 24-year-old burgeoning slugger’s absence is a colossal loss for Boston’s lineup and is also a big hit for fantasy managers that were counting on him building off last year’s phenomenal second-half performance. The lack of a concrete timetable suggests that he’s likely to miss a couple months, if not longer. There should be a clearer timetable in the coming days, but it certainly sounds like he’s going to miss a considerable portion of the season. Rotoworld Today, 1:18 pm

    • Swipes two bags Monday
Harris went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Monday's win over the Marlins.

Advice: It's the third multi-hit performance in the last four games for Harris, but his first multi-steal effort of the season. Through his first 93 plate appearances, the 23-year-old center fielder is slashing .307/.344/.466 with three homers, four stolen bases, 10 RBI and 14 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 9:02 am
