    • Takes seat against southpaw
Muncy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Muncy is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off. Muncy will be joined on the bench by Gavin Lux and James Outman. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Notches seventh save
Kimbrel picked up the save against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Kimbrel surrendered a leadoff single to Ehire Adrianza to open the bottom of the ninth, who then advanced to third on a throwing error by Jorge Mateo. This would lead to a run coming home for Los Angeles in the frame on a groundout to make it a 6-5 game, though Kimbrel was able to retire two of the next three batters to nail down his seventh save of the season. The veteran reliever has now converted each of his last seven save attempts after blowing the save to open the campaign, but he's also allowed a hit and a walk in each of his last two appearances. • Ha-Seong Kim drives in two runs against Rockies
Ha-Seong Kim went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday in a 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Kim put the Padres on the board early with a two-run double in the first inning. He’d come around to score on a base hit as San Diego put four runs up in the opening frame. He added a base hit in the sixth for his second hit of the game. The 28-year-old infielder is slashing .240/.345/.417 with three homers, 16 runs scored, 15 RBI, and seven steals across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Dansby Swanson hits first homer since April 8
Dansby Swanson slugged a three-run homer on Wednesday, propelling the Cubs to a 4-3 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Swanson connected for a tone-setting homer off Astros rookie right-hander Spencer Arrighetti as part of Chicago’s four-run opening frame, which wound up being enough offense for Jameson Taillon and a quartet of Cubs relievers. It was his third long ball of the season and first time he’s gone deep since April 8. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 pm

    • First loss of season
Rodriguez (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against Kansas City, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Rodriguez allowed more than one run for the first time in three starts this season and set a season low in strikeouts after tallying six and seven K's in his first two starts, respectively. While Rodriguez is expected to be pushed into a bullpen role upon the return of Alek Manoah (shoulder), he's been a serviceable fill-in rotation piece, owning a 3.86 ERA and a 15:5 K:BB over 11.2 innings. • Sets tone with home run
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Swanson got the Cubs going early, hitting his big blast with two outs in the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the game. The shortstop, who is up to three home runs now for the season, has been off to a bit of a slow start overall with just a .235 batting average. However, Swanson will continue to see regular playing time, and he should be a strong fantasy asset the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Yariel Rodríguez gives up three runs in loss
Yariel Rodríguez allowed three runs with two strikeouts over four innings in a loss against the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Rodriguez struggled to find the zone in the first inning, walking two batters before Salvador Perez knocked in a run with a base hit. Two more hits in the second brought another run in to score for the Royals. He retired the next seven batters until the fifth, when three straight singles brought a run in and left two runners on base as Rodríguez’s day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander’s velocity was down a bit from his first two starts, and he generated only four swings-and-misses. He’ll take a 3.86 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 15/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings into a start against these same Royals in Toronto on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 pm
    • Craig Kimbrel gets save against Angels
Despite allowing an unearned run in the ninth, Craig Kimbrel picked up his seventh save Wednesday against the Orioles.

Advice: Kimbrel could have saved himself some trouble by handling Ehire Adrianza’s soft grounder to start the inning, but he missed it and second baseman Jorge Mateo threw wildly after picking up the ball, resulting in a single and a two-base error. Adrianza then came around to score on a groundout. Jo Adell walked with two outs, only to then end the game on a caught stealing. Replay suggested that he was safe at second, but the call stood after a lengthy challenge. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:17 pm
    • Gets day off
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carpenter's absence from the lineup is likely a result of the Rays' plan to deploy southpaw Tyler Alexander as their primary pitcher out of the bullpen. With Carpenter on the bench for the first time since April 9, Riley Greene and Wenceel Perez will occupy the corner-outfield spots while Mark Canha serves as Detroit's designated hitter.
