      Advice: Ryan surrendered a run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth while receiving plenty of early run support from his teammates. He generated 15 swinging strikes on 110 pitches and has completed at least five frames in each of his 18 starts this season.       Advice: Verdugo hit a two-run home run in the third inning and then singled and scored in the fifth. He hit just .219 with one homer in June but has registered two multi-hit efforts in his past three games and continues to hit in the middle of the Yankees lineup. The outfielder's current .246 average is well below his .277 career mark, but he has contributed 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 42 runs scored across 364 plate appearances in 2024.       Devers went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 14-4 loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

      Advice: Devers hit an RBI single in the third inning before stealing second and coming around to score later in the frame. He then chased Gerrit Cole in the fifth with his 26th career home run against the Yankees. The steal was just his second of the season, but the 27-year-old has slashed a fantastic .287/.373/.570 with 19 home runs, 53 RBI and 54 runs scored over 332 plate appearances.       Yordan Alvarez is considered day-to-day after being diagnosed with a right knee contusion on Saturday.

      Advice: Alvarez was pulled from Saturday’s battle against the Twins after being plunked by a pitch on his right knee in his previous plate appearance. It appears to have been a precautionary measure though as the Astros won’t even have any imaging done on their 27-year-old slugger.       Alvarez was diagnosed with a right knee contusion Saturday and didn't go in for imaging, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

      Advice: Alvarez was hit in the knee by a pitch in the sixth inning of Saturday's game and although he stayed in to run the bases, he was later removed in the eighth inning. Considering he didn't need to undergo imaging, the 27-year-old should be viewed as day-to-day.       Advice: Ryan pitched two clean frames before a pair of doubles brought a run in to score for Houston in the third. Jon Singleton then hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Ryan worked into the sixth before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out eight on the day. He initially remained in the game to run the bases despite looking uncomfortable, and Grae Kessinger pinch hit for him during the eighth frame.       Yordan Alvarez was removed from Saturday’s game against the Twins a couple of innings after he was plunked in the right knee by a pitch.

      Advice: Alvarez remained in the game to run the bases for himself but was walking slowly and hobbling as he made his way to first base. When his spot in the order came back around in the eighth inning, Grae Kessinger was sent out to pinch-hit for him. The fact that the Twins had a six-run lead at the time may have played a role in his removal, but be sure to pay close attention to his status after the game and prior to Sunday’s contest.
