      Advice: Flaherty was at his best Thursday, racking up 15 swinging strikes and tying his season high with 6.2 frames. The right-hander struck out exactly nine batters for the third straight contest and recorded his sixth consecutive quality start. Though the win was just his second this season, Flaherty has been very good in his first year with Detroit, posting a 3.46 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 90:10 K:BB over 67.2 innings.     • Jack Flaherty takes no-hitter into seventh vs. BOS
      Jack Flaherty struck out nine while allowing just one hit over 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to help the Tigers to a 5-0 win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

      Advice: Flaherty didn’t allow a hit until there was one out in the seventh inning when Rob Refsnyder was able to break up the no-no. The right-hander has now struck out nine batters in three straight starts, and his K/BB for the month of May is 40/5. Flaherty has been a strong addition to the Detroit rotation, and he’s pitched better than his still-solid 3.46 ERA has indicated — especially lately.       Duran picked up the save Thursday against the Royals, allowing two unearned runs on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning.

      Advice: Protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning, Duran would allow a pair of runs on Bobby Witt's two-out single following a walk and a Carlos Santana error. However, Duran would coax a game-ending groundout from Vinnie Pasquantino, earning his ninth save in as many chances to open the year. While he's been a bit shaky of late, Duran's now gone five appearances (4.1 innings) without allowing an earned run.       Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Milwaukee.

      Advice: Bellinger opened the scoring with a two-out solo shot off Colin Rea, giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the first inning with his eighth homer of the year and his first in 18 games. While he hadn't been hitting for much power, Bellinger's been seeing the ball well recently -- he has hits in six straight games, going 11-for-27 (.407) in that span, including five consecutive two-hit efforts.     • Paredes blasts 10th home run in win Thursday
      Isaac Paredes went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Athletics on Thursday.



      Advice: Paredes started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. The home run was his 10th of the season and he’s now up to 32 RBI. Paredes is now hitting a solid .295 with a .890 OPS on the year.

    • Adames has two-hit game in win against Cubs
      Willy Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored against the Cubs on Thursday.

      Advice: Adames extended his hitting streak to nine games. He continues to have a really nice season for the Brewers in his last year before free agency. The 28-year-old shortstop is up to .260 with a .796 OPS, nine home runs and eight steals this season. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:28 pm

    • Duran picks up ninth save Thursday
      Jhoan Duran allowed two runs (none earned) and picked up the save against the Royals on Thursday.



      Advice: The save was Duran’s ninth of the year. A missed catch error on first baseman Carlos Santana made the two runs that scored on Bobby Witt Jr.’s single unearned. With nine saves already, Duran remains perfect in save opportunities this year. He has rewarded patient fantasy managers that drafted the closer who was injured to begin the season.

      Manager Kevin Cash said that Eflin (back) will throw a light bullpen session Thursday and a "ramped-up bullpen session" Sunday before the Rays decide his next steps, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

      Advice: Cash noted that the Rays will wait and see how Eflin feels following Sunday's session, but if his lower-back injury isn't providing any complications, he could be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list next week. When Eflin was placed on the IL on May 20, Cash estimated that the right-hander would need 2-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery, and Eflin currently looks to be tracking toward the short end of that timeline.       Holmes picked up the save over the Angels on Wednesday, pitching a scoreless ninth inning while allowing one hit and one walk.

      Advice: Holmes entered the contest with a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and surrendered a single and a walk in the first two at-bats before getting Willie Calhoun to ground into a double play. The reliever was then able to retire Logan O'Hoppe on just two pitches to record his 16th save of the season, which ties him with Robert Suarez for third in the major leagues.
