Advice: Kim led off the third inning with a triple before coming around to score on a Luis Arraez sacrifice fly. He'd then provide what proved to be the game-deciding hit in the fourth, driving in three runs with a base-clearing double to put the Padres ahead 5-3. Kim's now 4-for-10 with three extra-base hits in his last three games. After a slow start to the year, he's gotten his slash line up to .222/.332/.384 with seven homers, 31 runs scored, 27 RBI and 13 steals across 60 contests. Starring role in winTovar went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers.
Advice: Tovar was the only Rockie with multiple hits in the contest. This was his 10th multi-hit effort over his last 16 games, a span in which he's batting .356 (26-for-73) with four homers, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base. The shortstop is up to a .294/.328/.481 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 30 runs scored, four steals, 17 doubles and a triple over 55 contests this season. Advice: Tovar gave the Rockies a 4-0 lead with a solo homer in the fourth off Walker Buehler. The shortstop has homered eight times in 2024 with five of them coming in May. Tovar still needs to show a little more consistency to reach an elite level, but the talent is there for him to reach that lofty status in the coming years. Advice: Correa cleared the bases with a triple in the sixth inning that put the Twins ahead for good. Despite missing some time with an injury, he’s quietly having a nice season. Ha-Seong Kim goes deep in Padres’ loss to MarlinsHa-Seong Kim belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Padres’ blowout loss to the Marlins.
Advice: There weren’t a whole lot of positives for San Diego in this one as Kim’s third-inning shot off Marlins starter Braxton Garrett represented their lone tally in a one-sided affair.
